The indigenous people of Chitzenia arrived around 8,000 BC as desert nomads. These nomads settled in the Ordoro River valley near the coast, where they developed agriculture. This Ordoro civilization flourished as peaceful farmers. In 918 BC, tribes from neighboring islands, led by a Chief Uzguz attacked the capital Ordoro in a devastating raid. The government then was small and primarily handled territorial disputes. Most government officials fled to neighboring towns. From them rose a leader, Enrico Chilvadori. Chilvadori taught farmers and villagers guerilla tactics and organized a small rebel army. Within six years, Chilvadori's army managed to capture the palace built for Chief Uzguz. Chilvadori himself captured Uzguz, and the invaders were forced to retreat back to their islands. Chilvadori executed Uzguz and was declared king by the people. Chilvadori and his dynasty ruled peacefully for the next eight generations. The civilization changed very little over the next two millenia.
In the late years of the Soviet Union, many groups and organizations attempted to gain an upper hand in the politics of the failing government. The wiser of the groups sensed that the USSR would soon collapse, and prepared accordingly to take control of the government after it fell. Among these organizations was the Chitzenian Liberation Front. Lead by former military advisor Gen. Arkaday Vladislav, the CLF was made up primarily of KGB and military members. They planned to to revive capitalism in Russia, but with a Stalinistic perspective that would force citizens to buy products through the state. They nearly achieved their objective, but in AD 1990, a year before the Soviet Union's collapse, KGB agents were alerted to the CLF's plans. Gen. Vladislav and a few of his close lieutenants managed to avoid the KGB by fleeing to Turkey. Vladislav and his advisors moved around the world, dodging both Soviet and capitalist military. In June 1991, the CLF found the continent of Civfanatica and settled in the northern Great Desert area. Two months later, the Soviet Union fell in a coup. Many Russians, seeing a not-so-promising economic future, fled the nation. Many of the imprisoned CLF members were released. Vladislav contacted them as soon as possible, and the CLF agents in Russia recruited many to come to the new nation of Chitzenia. As the remaining officers of the CLF and Slavs dedicated to the CLF's cause arrived in Chitzenia, a small but well-trained army was formed. Soon the army began to enforce the will of the government on the indigenous people of the desert of which Chitzenia was forged. Gen. Vladislav personally chose spies to keep watch over the myriad villages and hamlets of Chitzenia, reporting to him personally those who tried to step out of line or start insurrections. Gen. Vladislav's Elite Corps, bred from the best former Soviet soldiers and training, quickly silenced those who resisted. The government was soon everywhere, and Vladislav was undisputed Commander in Chief of Chitzenia.
Chitzenia's official language is Russian, but most Chitzenians also speak the traditional Ordoro tongue or Ordslavic, a combination of the two. The primary exports of Chitzenia oil, silver, and automobiles. The government also manufactures advanced military technologies for use by the Elite Corps. The standard currency is the credit.
