The Order of the Knights Templar

Yep, POT would be nice but I guess we do need to go AH to find horses. We do have some pasture resources around anyway. Oracle is probably in doubt now though.

Tachy - Yep, the pigs/golds city stood out to me as well. However, I might settle that FP/3rd gold city on the desert hill 1NW of your spot.

astre - the original city has the ability to work several cottages for Nople and is plenty good on its own. The FP can be picked up by another city later. Plus, I hate settling on riverside grass hills if I can avoid it.

We might want to make a quick play for those cities to the SE. Thess should build worker now fueled by corn. Nople grows to 3 and builds settler that we then chop. 2 cities in SE should lock out Charlierex from our neck of the woods, if we actually beat him to the spots.

edit: actually those cities may not really be a priority. they are a bit far away and we have 2 or 3 good close by cities.

city 2 and capital should probably pump a little bit of warriors... I guess we will need something like 4 for defense at least and even then we could be pillaged into stone age.

teching speed slows and we probably could/should delay city 3 to sync with pottery after AH

this is pottery game not writing one surely (we settled the capital way)

our city 3 should probably overlap in north on the cottages though, crossing fingers on horses in city 2 :-D

I actually would most probably plan city 3 2W from marble it gets high overlap on cottages + cows and marble

seems to me like Monarchy map too.

Ok, played on until AH. Thessalonica has horses in its BFC but we'll need culture for a border pop. A settler will be ready next turn in Constantinople. Worker being constructed in Thessa. Our current worker this turn will chop a wood which can go to either city. C doesn't need it to finish the settler, but imperialistic wood counts double towards settlers of course. Currently T would receive it, so up for reconsideration.

Built some more warriors while growing a bit. Won some battles vs barbs, though a wounded one is fleeing again from the NE homebound.

HRE settled the pig. We met another imperialistic neighbour in the Tao Khan (G.) who is surprisingly closeby and is on 5 cities already. Towards the north there seems to be slightly more room for expansion.

Pottery queued.

Definitely chop the worker. He should been built already.

I shoulda mentioned slavery switch after the settler popped last time, but next turn is good as any.

I would pull the far west warrior back into a bust position. The north warrior could probably be better position as well since he is part busting and actual barb city.

Wow, Mongols are close.

We may have some serious barb issues to the NE.

After slavery, we can whip that Mon in Thess. Can't wait on religion.

Cow/Marble and a city 1W of silk would be my next two choices. I'd like to eventually block Mongols from the North but that area further west looks uninviting.

Ofc, we might want to look at going all Tachy on the Mongols

that barb warrior will probably enter our borders, but would wait if Tachy uses his magic to find out what script the warrior is running currently :-)

but since there is more then 3 cities on average I guess he will go for our capital.

so next build after settler should be warrior for sure

... probably enter our borders ...
... he will go for our capital ...
Heaven forbid ... I thought that you were lurking! ;)

Got it.

Haven't been playing civ for a few days.

Do we have consensus on city#3?

Lots of barbs around ain't there.

North east looks surprisingly empty.

Okay, Pigs, we need you to leave the sty and get playin' ;)

My next city would be 1NE of cows to the north.

Oracle is probably not going to happen.

I was thinking of putting our next city here:

If we don't take the spot the Mongols will beat us to it. There's space for a FP city to its north on the warrior's desert hill. It gets rice and cows for early growth.

I still like cows/marble next - 1NE of cows, but I did have rice/ivory pegged as next city. I think we will have no problem getting that spot. Thess can build another settler after worker and chop the forest.

If we ain't going for Oracle then marble can wait a bit. Doesn't look like much competition for the north.

It's not about the marble

I don't really like having an AI next to our capital, particularly an aggressive AI so I'd like a blocking city while we can still get it. Constantinople can work its own cottages in the short term (though roads and specials will get built first I reckon). Leaving the south free for GK and Charlie to bump heads is quite tempting however.

since the city spot is already in our culture...I kinda don't see the point of the discussion

I would go with city 3 as L pointed out... high overlap on cottages from capital.

I'm in favor of cow/marble as well. The other spot can be settled later.

Yep, we have plenty of time to settle rice/ivory. I would like to settle it after cow/marble though as I had stated early. Thess can start on a new settler pronto while Nople grows on some units.

oink!

Sorry for the (extended) delay. I've been vegging out playing Amalur:Reckoning. Mindless but strangely compulsive.

Eventually played 10 turns.

Barbarians, more barbarians and still more barbarians have been the predominant theme.

We've swopped to slavery.

Constaninople built a settler who spent several turns dodging barbs and waiting for more warriors before Adrianople could be settled in 1520. Thessalonica finished its worker then whipped a monument.

Pottery is done, writing in 8. Improvements have been delayed by barbs.

We've killed another 7 barbs, lost 2 warriors, 6 warriors left. Constantinople finishes settler in 3.
