The Paladins

I agree with Wheel next. Also agree with Prague building a chopped monument next, then archer, Settler.

Stop here. turn 80.

Pretty boring, found 2 sets of horse near our area. Sent the second SE towards rice to fogbust.

Had a look at the save.

Prague could do with working better tiles. Borders pop in a couple of turns so worker can start improving the high value tiles. We don't really need another mine in Aachen atm, worker should probably be chopping instead.

Apart from those minor quibbles looking good.

Thy Spellcraft is UP!

I'm sorry for needing bit longer..

The aims for this set: Finish GW and settle clam-site as fast as possible while scouting (and hopefully finding out where our rivals are) bit more. Techwise I'd like to go for writing after wheel comes in..
Any other ideas??

Writing seems good to run some scientists, pottery and iron working afterwards.

Just finished my set and there's not that much to tell you about..

IT:
Did some micro, but kept building the mine at Aachen as don't think we'll get two more chops into GW, so I decided to rather build and work the mine than "wasting" the lovely hammers due working unimproved grasswoods or FPs..

1925 BC:
Our archer guarding the clams killed a Barb-Warrior.

1900 BC:
The wheel came in and we went on with writing.

1725 BC:
We :whipped: the settler in Prague. The overflow went into another worker. The following turn I changed to another Archer for some scounting to the east. No scout because we've already met the first barb warriors and I didn't want to waste the hammers into a "useless" scout who won't be able to fend of his own skin..

1675 BC:
Time for the first screenie:
Spoiler :
Screen01.jpg

As we don't have any guarding unit in Aachen it's time for another Archer over there..

1575BC:
The archer in Aachen finished and as Aachen will grow the next turn (time for another worker..) I decided to put a single turn into SH for the extra cash later on.
And here's the secon screenie:
Spoiler :
Screen02.jpg

I started with a monument to get the necessary borderpop as fast as possible.
So the main goals of my set are reached.. *gg*

1550 BC:
Aachen grew and I changed to another worker as I sent the one around Aachen to Vienna to chop the monument and improve whatever title there's to improve!

1525 BC:
The archer in Prague finished and as we'll need another one for guarding the next settler quite soon (hopefully) I started on another one..

BTW: I found Shaka so far.. He's to the south of us.. (forgot to take a screenie.. :()

So it's time to decide on th enext location.. I'd vote for the one north west of Aachen (the blue spot) to grab horses as well as another happiness resource.

Roster:
pigswill --> Up now
Meatbuster --> on deck
Ad Hoc
cripp7
Thy Spellcraft --> just played

Set looks good, glad the GW is up.

Techwise, Iron working will be very important both to find Iron and chop jungles. However we still need Fishing for Vienna, and Pottery.

We need more scouting so we can make good decisions about city placement, to find metal, and start sizing up our opposition.

As for our next site, here are a few dots:

(I just noticed this screenshot misses a couple BFC resources: Blue's BFC contains Silver to the and Cyan contains Banana - sorry for the poor zoom)

I wouldn't go with Blue next. Silver is nice but Blue doesn't advance our borders in any important direction, we have another option for horses, and overall its a weak site, plus it would need Fishing and a border pop to get any food. I would rather backfill this site later.

Cyan is a very nice site, but it really needs Iron Working so we can get Rice and grow. Nonetheless it would hook up Horses without a pop, and we could chop some infrastructure in the mean time. Also very strong border expansion.

Green is a decent option to claim horses and marble, but its lacking food. However, its got 4 grassland riverside tiles and lots of trees to chop so it could be a good slow growing commerce city. Defensively, its on a hill and firms up our Monty borders.

Of those three options, I would choose Cyan next.

Thinking ahead a bit for city specialization:
Prague: Food/Production? It only has two hills, but it does have cows.
Vienna: Commerce with Cottages
Aachen: Food/GP/Production
future:
Blue: Dunno, weak production?
Green: Commerce
Cyan: Probably production, could go either way. Has two hillplains + horses for decent production. With 9 grasslands, there's a lot of flexibility later.

I reckon that we go for northern silver next. Southern cities will be nice once we've got IW but atm we're a long way from IW and we need to improve our economy and research in the short term. I'd put northern city here:

p2a0001.jpg

Techwise finish writing then go for fishing.

Aachen goes worker>settler>library.

Prague grows while building a barax.

I'm not sure whether settling the northern city as you purposed pigs would be a good decision.. In cas4e there's another resource up there go for it, otherwise I'd rather settle blue as it would leave us bit more titles to work!

If we settle pigs' spot, crab, horse, silver and 2 coast tiles is all it'll ever work. But at least we get silver soon... hmm...

Here's a request though: please don't give me a settler on my turn again.

Pigswill I noticed the roster you posted left out my place. I assume this is just a copy/paste thing since I was the last one added (unless you're dropping a hint ;) ), so just put me in wherever.
