The Pokemon Go Craze

That's user submitted data, it shows none in my city either. The ability to remote scan through their API was unintended, and has been blocked.

Irish told me that school friends of her have seen a pokemon in the Island City Mall and the mall states it has one. I can't help but think of the amount of video, etc. piracy that goes on around here. Even YouTube won't let me post videos on websites like CFC because of their paranoia

Yeah nothing in the game is really micromanaged to the extent that spawns and points of interest have to be manually added for subnational areas. Beyond making the download available in the local app stores there isn't much rollout for a new country.

The points of interest are user-added from another game. The spawns are based on map features, climate data and mobile phone signal concentration.

I play Pokémon Go as a member of Team Instinct.

A few days ago, Niantic added the Buddy feature, which allows you to pair with a Pokémon, which would generate candies of that Pokémon family if you walk a certain distance, which is good for powering up rare Pokémon.

I really liked this game but there is not enough features to keep me interested after the first few weeks. Kind of sucks, because if this game had trading and personal battles with friends, it'd be pretty awesome.

As it is though it's pretty shallow though it has a great hook to draw people in.

I kinda figured they were gonna add the newer pokemon generations as time passed

That is what I hoped for but I don't see any sign of that. That would definitely get me involved again. 150 is too few to make a lasting experience out of the game, especially when you're catching the same 5 over and over and over again.

They've stated they intend to, but the game has been out all of two months (and they've already added a feature or two, most notably the buddy system).

They're also probably adjusting their schedule of things to add. It's pretty clear from their comments and from the way things happened that the initial plan was to slowly build up the player base with strategic additions over the long term ; not to see a few hundred millions rush the game within the first two months.

I would also like to see Pokémon from the newer generations as well.

Something to note is that even though the number of users has decreased, they revenue has not. Their core group of users is spending a lot of money.
This means that the average Pokémon Go player spent more money, primarily because there are much fewer Pokémon Go players, while those who spend money spend approximately the same amount.

There is a limit on spending though: there is a cap on the bag storage and the Pokémon storage being 1000 each. With regards to bag storage, items gained from level-ups aren't removed at max capacity; the cap is for items obtained from PokéStops and from the PokéCoin Shop (though it can go over the cap: for example, if one's bag capacity is 350 items (the base amount) and one has 349 items in the bag, if one were to visit a PokéStop and it dropped three Pokéballs, one would receive the three Pokéballs, allowing the player to hold 352 items).
