Well, Alakazam doesn't have Fire/Ice/Thunder Punch for elemental flexibility anymore, I think.

But, it does give Alakazam Focus Blast, giving an excellent counter to unsuspecting Dark pokemon.

Foresight is a useless move, Lucario would be better off with Dragon Pulse IMO.

Well, alakazam recieves focus blast and energy ball, and still has really high speed and special attack.

It helped some pokemon, hurt others. Personally, I like it.

What do you guys think about surf? While it does hurt your second pokemon in a double battle, it can actually make a good combo, like Poliwrath/water absorb/belly drum

Foresight does allow Lucario to kill Cynthia's friggin Spiritomb with Aura Sphere.Surf is pretty much the best move against the (not so) Elite 4 and friggin Cynthia,who gets both non-legendaries with Aura Sphere,a Pseudo Legendary(Garchomp) and Miltoic(The hardest Pokemon to get in my opinion.)

Mono type teams are the coolest, but you run into a lot of weaknesses. Unless your going into competitive battle tournments, you can succeed with pretty much any team, unless its all worthless pokemon (Sunkern, baby pokemon, magikarp, etc)

Right now I have 3 different teams:

Leaf Green (All are in their 40's) :

Diamond (All 100) :
Blaziken
Latios
Rayquaza
Medicham

Platinum (All are about 50-55) :
Umbreon
Typhlosion
Lucario
Roserade
Salamence
Lanturn

Out of these teams, my Umbreon is pretty awesome. I was hit with a super-effective attack from a pokemon at 58 or so and only received 40 damage. My Lanturn has over 200 HP already, while my others still have anywhere from the early to late 100's (on Platinum). My Ninetails has a great combination of Will-o-wisp, confuse ray, and flamethrower. My Roserade has toxic which is great in combination with my indestructible Umbreon. Can anyone suggest move sets for some of these pokemon? I already have decent moves, but I'm sure someone has a better move set.

Mwahahaha! I caught one one day and fed it many blue blocks and it evolved and I won Beauty contests!!!

Movesets for your starter.

If your starter is Torterra- Razor Leaf,Bite,Toxic and Earthquake or Solar Beam,Sunny Day,Toxic and Earthquake

If your starter is Empolean-Aqua Jet,Hydro Pump,Brine and Drill Peck or Aqua Jet,Drill Peck,Metal Claw/Flash Cannon and Avalanche/Blizzard orAqua Jet,Metal Claw,Drill Peck and Swords Dance

If your starter is Infernape-Flamethrower,Brick Break,Sunny Day and Solar Beam or Flame Wheel,Brick Break,Aerial Ace and Flare Blitz or Flamethrower,Sunny Day,Earthquake and Solar Beam.

Pokemon that can be great in your team.

Milotic,Unless you start with Empolean,she is blessed with god stats and the Marvel Scale ability,the problem is obtaining one.

Togekiss,better than Staraptor due to Aura Sphere and Ancient Power,Togekiss also has godly defense.Suggested Moveset:Thunder Wave,Air Slash,Aura Sphere and Ancient Power while holding Leftovers.

Garchomp,the sinnoh dragon type Pokemon is here because of it's ability to cause lots of damage,Suggested Movest:Earthquake,Iron Tail,Flamethrower and Dragon Claw/Dragon Pulse

Gallade,has has better attack and defense than Gardevoir,but has less Special both and Speed than Gardevoir.Suggested Movesetsychic Cut,Leaf Blade,Night Slash and Thunderbolt.

Raichu,this guy is not here becuase he's the mascot's evolution,he can learn all sorts of moves.Suggested Moveset:Thunder,Rain Dance,Iron Tail and Focus Blast

Rhyperior,has good defense and attack,but can be KOed quickly by a Special Beast,Still has alot of potential,Suggested Moveset:Megahorn,Avalanche,Iron Tail and Hammer Arm

Umbreon,can be a very good annoyer and has good Defenses,Suggested Moveset:Mean Look,Toxic,Confuse Ray and Return.

My Infernape in Pearl is Close Combat, Brick Break, Flamethrower and Flame Wheel (to be Flare Blitz once he reaches the right level.

I also have a Steelix with Iron Tail, Earthquake, Stone Edge and Crunch, a Raichu with Iron Tail, Thunderbolt, Discharge and Light Screen, and a Palkia with Surf, Dragon Claw, Spacial Rend and Ancient Power.

I boxed my Drifblim with Ominous Wind, Payback, Fly and Shadow Ball and my Golduck with Surf, Waterfall, Zen Headbutt and Confusion, likely replacements being Octillery with Gunk Shot, Waterfall, Ice Beam and Signal Beam, and Machamp with DynamicPunch, Fire Blast, and 2 of Cross Chop, Poison Jab and Giga Impact. Although I would like a Vespiquen, all the Combee's that I keep seeing are Male.

My sister has a Vespiquen and 3 Shiny Pokemon.She also found the Emerald Cloning Glitch.

Hmm. I'd prefer to avoid 'catch 'em all'-type variants, because let's be honest, catching 'em all is boring. And legendaries are also boring (except Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres, they still rule).

Beat the game only using Metronome.

Haha, okay, wow. That would probably amount to either a Togepi-only run of Crystal (which would be fun, but I can't do it because my Crystal has now borked and won't save) or a Clefairy-only run of FireRed. And Clefairy learns Metronome at Level 30, I think, so that's a lot of waiting. Shame, because that one sounds quite good.

Also, some of the Pokemon choices are ungood.

Dude! That doesn't matter, Elite Four Karen says so (at least I think it was Karen). Firestorm, I don't have any 4th-gen games, but you should totally use Roserade. Roserade's just great. I know nothing about Roserade except that it is probably great.
