Each one of the above will have a "call" (a chat program that has sounds would be required for the 3 of us, such as Trillian). A call is an ASCII text string that's convertered to a sound. For example, in Trillian, (@) is a meow, (&) is a bark, (LOL) is someone laughing, and (beep) is a bell.
