The problem with slowly game at civ 4

I have problem. I have A64 3000, 1 GB RAM, Radeon x600pro and when I play I have 28-33 fps in the game. And it is odd, becouse when i game on low detal or hight detal I have always 28-33fps. I use Ati catalyst 5.1 as driver. Before i used 5.10 (the newest) but when i ahs it computer has restarted itself.
I can transplant with speed, becouse it is round game, can't I? What can i do?

uhhh, you can be very happy with your 28-33 FPS. The game should be perfectly smooth at those speeds. The people who need to be annoyed are the ones with between 5-15 FPS.

33 FPS is not "good." It's "passable."

Between 55-60 FPS is "perfectly smooth."

The game has some memory leaks and unoptimized code - either read around the forums and get some ATI tweaks to optimize your performance or wait for a patch that will (hopefully) optimize the game code.

I have similar problems (even fewer fps though) and something strange is going on. Do you mind looking at another thread http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=136900 and checking if you can confirm my observations?
