The questions-not-worth-their-own-thread question thread IV

What do Americans mean when they say to 'goose' someone? A pinch on the arse or something, is it?

Disagreement with my wife needs to be resolved by something other than wikipedia:

Are the overseas departments / collectivity of France (French Guiana, Réunion, Saint Pierre and Miquelon) as integral to France like Hawaii is to the US, or a part of France like the Falkland Islands are to the UK?

Who was right, aug?

Also I'll reask my question since it landed on the bottom of the last page.

So what's going on at the WTC site these days?

I didn'y overlook them, I just didn't remember what continents they are on.

(Of course, you could say the US is on two also, Hawaii is more "Oceania" than North America, maybe.)

That's an interesting dilemma that you raise here. I never thought about how to classify islands in the middle of oceans. I generally assume whichever country owns those islands...that's how the island's continent classification is assigned. But what if South Africa owned an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean (and I wouldn't be surprised if they did)? Would that island really be Africa?

Oceania isn't a continent though.

Ive always considered it a continent.

Me. Obviously ;)

Correction four continents your overlooking Guadeloupe,Martinique and Reunion.:p

4½ depending on how you classify the Caribbean. It's not really North America to me. But France still has two islands off Newfoundland that are North America :)

Should I be worried that I honestly can't see the future becoming good in the least bit, that the best it can be would be like a 1984 scenario where everyone thinks we're good but really it sucks? Of course I'd just rather have a Fallout like scenario where I could go and make a mutant army and fix the world...

Really I'm just going to college as a backup in case things don't go to hell.

The world ain't going down no 1984 route. It's going to get a little worse, followed by a little better, followed by a little worse again, and so on and so forth. Nothing major.

Is this statement correct?

"Turkey is the only democratic majority muslim country in the world"

Well depends on how you like things. Personally I think things already suck pretty damn much and have for a while, and with the way politics and things seem to be going now, it can only get worse the way I see it.
