@Drynagolt- this is well known in the states actually... to tell you the truthit is a bit of a joke to refer to Canada as "the 51st state"...

I thought that was britain. Mabey Canada is the 52nd;).

@Zenon: I never ment to degrade the achivements of Portugul and the Neatherlands. It's just that they are in the already overcrowded Europe, and add to the Euro-centric world view portrayed in Civ3. While Ethiopia and Mali were in thier time just as powerful as Portugul and the Neatherlands were in their time. Besides that Ethiopia and Mali are in Africa, the 2nd largest continet, which has only 3 civs in it. while Europe ,the 2nd smallest continent, is overcrowded with 10 civs. On top of that Ethiopia and Mali would add more diversity and a better world view to the game.

I know that Africa still being discriminated. And I agree to add 1 or 2 civ’s from Africa. But it’s a fact in Europe there are different cultures, not likely in America.

There are different cultures everywhere. They vary almost infanetly from region to region.

Indeed, one mat note differnces about as great, if not greater then that of Spain and Persia when one compares the Winnebago, and Pueblo indians...

OK but still in Europe there are a Multi-culture diversity. And that can't be ignore.

The problem of Europe is that there are to many "civ's" to choose on. But quite important in terms of Historical value...

So it isn't Euro-centric, but perhaps 'Historical value - centric'.

See you another day...

'the Winnebago, and Pueblo indians...'
who?

the Winnebago, although a very real native american tribe, is a bit of an inside joke between me and some of the other guys around here, they inhabited the area around the southern portion of the great lakes, but thestonesfan could give you more info then I could about them, the Pueblo are another native american groub, and that about the extent of there connection, aside from soem religious similarities I think (but I dont know for sure...) the inhabited the south western U.S

the pueblo would of been a nice civ to round out n. america, they had actually cities-and could fight, ask the spanish about the great pueblo revolt

I fully agree, the Pueblo would be cool, though I think we may have some trouble assigning a UU....

Brazil should be the 7th civ. Its one of the largests country, most populous, 12th biggest economy.... It is much bigger and better then many other civs that are alredy in the game, like the iroquois! Portugal is nice, but, the same way there is England and America, there should be Portugal and Brazil.

But that should not be an argument to leave us out of the game.... We are still fighting for our independence...

Bah, I don't think Brazil should be a civilization at all. It was just a colony of Portugal. It isn't a separate people with different a different culture or language or achievements. To tell you the truth, if I were Sid Meiers, I wouldn't have even put America in the game. Probably because I usually think of civilizations of being ancient...but still, I don't think Brazil is that important to be put in the game. Sure, it's big, but that's not all that counts.

Brasil wouldnt add anything to game. Brasilian wonders? Brasilian UU? Not very good idea. New civs are quite ok for me.

Oh yeah, just ignore 175 milion ppl, They have nothing to add. Just the biggest hidroplant in the world, for exemple. Beside, does Russia have any wonder? I mean, Brazil Has a lot to add to the game, there is no Modern Civs in South America, and Brazil is the oldest (modern) Civ in South America! It has more than 500 years, since the portuguese arived... During many of those years Tupi Guarani, an native language, was the most spoken language. We are not just a colony, we have a culture of our own.

I personally would like Brasil to be added. They are at least better than the Sumerians. They fill up a very large area in south America. They have the potential to be one of the worlds leading and most powerfull nations in the world. Their UU would be somewhat hard, but so was Sumeria's and their in aren't they. Plus what could be more fun that playing as the civ that has Carnival.
