Xen: Too bad the UU for the Byzantines is the Dromon. I just found out today.

I know, it sucks, but I'm hopeful that there will some sort of late Roman cavalry to mod in its place, else ill have to wait 5 years for Kryten to finish the Alexander G. scen before he can make a cataphract Byzantine style...

however, this is what my cataphracts think of the dromon as the byzantine UU :D-

Lol, I posted this in another thread before I read this :)

I agree with the ones that want to fill in the gaps on the world map.
I know it won't happen, but I think we need the Maori. Militaristic and Seafaring (originally Polynese).

*Ponders what culture group they should belong to...*

I would love it if they added new culture groups to Conquests.

Preferrably African and North American.

Eastern European would be nice, too.

I'm glad you mentioned it! I've been working on an East European city style for the last several weeks. More specifically, it's based on Bosnia and Kosovo, but if you just take out the mosque, it works for all of East Europe! Enjoy!!

@SoCalian

I said: “But it’s a fact in Europe there are different cultures, not likely in America.”
And you answer: “There are different cultures everywhere. They vary almost infanetly from region to region.”

What I main to said was in US more than 90% have the some culture, not in all America…

@aaminion00
In Africa should have 2 types: 1st- Arabic or up-sub-Saharan Africa; and 2nd – Sub-Saharan Africa.

---

Other’s types: Pacific should be nice; divide America in North and Latin America; and also Europe in Western and Eastern Europe.

I think that Middle eastern dose fine for the Arabic/African nations, and so just a "Black Africa" would be fine for the sub-saharan civs of Africa

I also wouldnt mind a seperation of North, and south/central American civs, but I dont see the big point in seperating Europe more then the standard, and mediterranean states already represented

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

on American culture- well, all I have to say is, that if you want to just how differnt one states cultyer is from another, just take a cross country tour of the US, youll see vast differnces in comparative state development, and culture, for instance many states can first be divided into a more conservate TOTAL culture, and more liberal, and then the differnces start cropping up from there...

For example, I live in California one of the most liberal states overall. The region I live in though is one of the most conservative areas west of the Mississippi.

OK, OK, OK, but still you considered as one nation, not likely as in Europe...

Hey Xen, with the upcoming civilization chat and what/not, are you gonna ask atari why the hell they chose Theodora?

hmmmmm.... why not, its good to keep Byzantium fresh in peoples minds :D, besides that, i'm curious...

May as well ask why they chose the Dromon as te UU too. Everyone hates that.

Except, apparently, Beta Testers ;)

I think everyone knows why they chose Theodra (So they could have a female leaderhead).

It will be interesting to hear why they choise the Dromon.

I actually hope they'll make one of those Dev updates that explains why they chose the civs and units that they did (Like they did for PTW, where they said they wanted the Spanish Tercio, but it was difficult to work with). Their thought process for what to include will definately be needed.

I would like to ask if there were other Civs they wanted to include, but didn't have the time to make them.

as long as theodora is on par with isabella, this dictator wont be complaining

btw does anyone actually know what she looked like?

she was a whore and then later the emperor's wife, so she couldn't have been that bad.

To keep this thread alive...

Let's make a list of questions that should be asked!!

So far:

- Why did atari choose Theodora
- Why the Dromon was chosen
- What other civs were seriously considered
- Does Theodora look good or is she like Catherine?

Here's my additions

- If you had the time to add an 8th civ what would they have been?
- Did anybody from atari/firaxis check out the "The Remaining Civ" thread on civfanatics forums and laugh?

ooo, post that second addition in my thread on my latest questions to Atari :D, i'd like to hear the answer to that one...

as for my 8th civ... a hard choice, but here is my list of civs tha tI wouls have loved in C3C-

Byzantium
Ethiopia
Song-Hai
Thai or Khemer, dont know much about 'em but would like more civs in asia...
Polynesia, not only a good pacific civ, but could offer yet another Asian civ...
Soux (or better yet, the Winnebago Indians, beat that UU! :D)
Inca

and the magical 8h civ...

a hard choiuce, but I'd have to draw between Nubia or the Maya, both areas need more civs, and the Maya sort of merit it, and are needed more, but I tend to prefer Nubian as a choice...
