Hello everyone. Sorry for scarpering off in february at the beginning of the game. i went on a couple of trips near then back to back and just stopped playing civ till now. Can someone give me an update on what is happening? From looking over the threads looks like the Cavs are with us in preparing for a return to war against Sancta. If I can log on, I'll be able to tell a lot, but that depends on my terribly selective internet. Anyways, how are we doing?

Welcome back.
Don’t recall exactly when you left but here is a brief history.
We allied with MS and Team Cav. Also had a good relationship going with Saturn. We got boxed in by Sancta. We declared war on Sancta. Saturn defected and allied with sancta. We upgraded an army of axes to maces and attacked Sancta (also had elephants, Horse archers, catapults). We lost big time toa far inferior force of Axes, chariots, and a long bow. Some of this was very bad luck, but with better planning (keeping our stack together) we probably would have survived.
We have peace with Sancta but are looking to raze a border city and capture several other of their cities. Team Cav will help us with this. The plan is to go to war fairly soon.
Team Cav and Sancta both have giant empires. MS and Saturn have both focused on $ to finance their respective allies. Team MS is hard to work with as they speak poor English, and don’t seem to get key concepts of the game like warfare.
Sancta apepars to have a specialist economy and has been running the civic Representation. They have been able to “surge” some key techs (liberalism) very fast - but generally our alliance techs faster.
All religions have been founded and Saturn and Sancta have none of them. We have 4 (2 founded in the same city) for what it is worth.
We have built the Great Library, the Statue of Zeus, Oxford, and Maoi statues.
Our team loves to argue. This has gotten pretty acrimonious in the past but has been fairly civil recently.

Thanks for the warm welcome back. Yeah i remember our penchant for heated discussion. I think I left around turn 30 ish. We had allied with MS and Cav, and met Sancta by then but not much else has happened. I guess ill try and update some of the threads we have lying around so that we can see at a glance important details all in one spot. I'll leave our war strategy for whomever shouts loudest.
