A completeley punch-unrelated disaster struck - let's say an asteroid. The first guy survived because he'd left.

The first guy had some kind of disease which he had built an immunity to. When he went to get some punch he left some germs in the bowl. Eventually they all died.

BTW, is this a riddle? Seems like a Trick Question to me.

The first person locks everybody in the room because he is drunk and they cannot get out and therefore die of starvation.

in the punch there are poisened ice cubes, the man drinks the punch and leaves, shortly after he left the icecubes melted putting poison in the punch

The 'melting ice cubes' may not be the answer that Turner has yet to tell us, but I think it is definitely an answer that satisfies the riddle.
