The Save File Has Been Protected to Ensure that Your Mod Files Have Not Been Changed

This is no place for tongue-in-cheek platform bashing :) If anyone should be taken to task it's probably me for starting it!

On the HoF Web Site there's a page devoted to the HoF Mod. One of the tabs on that page takes you to the Asset Checker. You need to downlaod that and install it.

It was developed by the HoF team using MS .NET, so if you don't have the .NET v2 framework installed it will ask you to install that, as well! The wonders of Windows.

OK, this is WEIRD. Last time I tried running GOTM 26, it errored off. I have not applied any mods, upgrades, etc.. Only played a couple of BtS games.

Ran Asset Checker - it passed.

Tried GOTM26 and it runs.

Go figure.

THANKS!!

So lemme get this straight, to run the vanilla GOTM, on a vanilla installation I need to get that core dll from the BtS 3.13 expansion and plunk it down in my base install Asset folder?

That's a pretty accurate description of your task.

It was a bit tedious finding the solution to the error but the above worked just fine, thanks.

Have tried the .DLL files from both BtS and Warlords but neither of them work :( I'm playing the HOF mod for BtS so the system is up to date with all patches installed.

EDIT: Now I'm having the same problem with Warlords!!

EDIT: BtS works fine - I'm now playing BOTM :P

if you have BtS up to date to the point of BOTM working, you shouldn't need the .DLLs for Warlords or Vanilla...the .DLLs are the ones that changed by BtS patch 3.13.

I'm playing BOTM but neither the GOTM or the WOTM will load. Error is the one that this whole thread is about.

I am running windows 2k.

Have you maybe patched Vanilla and Warlords AFTER patching BtS to v3.13?

That would probably re-erase/overwrite your DLLs?!?

I'll try that then, getting the original DLL's.
