Commander in Chief
*In charge of :strength:, including troop movements and drafting new troops.
*In charge of battle and invasion plans
*Second back-up turn player.

The job of the Commander in Chief

Question.

If the Sultan is in charge of exploration while the Commander-in-Chief is in charge of troop movement, how will you differentiate when exploring with any of our troops?

Considering that I am in charge of both ministries for the time being, there will be no differentiation. But in the case that there is a separate duties, then the office of the president (Sultan) will work out a system with Commander in Chief to set aside certain units for the purpose of exploration. But I think it will be better to make an amendment so that all military units go to the Commander in chief as to limit this confusion.

I'll self nominate for Commander in Chief.

Now that we have played 1 turn, is it too early to start arguing about discussing our next few turns? Since the next few decisions belong to the Sultan, I thought I would post here.

First, I think it is clear that our worker should road then irrigate the cow. We grow to size 2 at the same time regardless of which we do first, but we get 3 extra beakers by roading first.

Second, in the absence of a Constitutional Amendment, the Sultan is in charge of exploration. Where will our warrior go? Since the y-wrap is on, I don't think any direction is better due solely to our location on the minimap, so I think our warrior should head in the direction where our second city is most likely to go, so he can at least pass through the terrain to try to pick the best location.

I think north is out of the question because of all that jungle. West is a total mystery, but it seems like it is probably not the best choice because the river doesn't go that way. East we know has at least one flood plain that the capital won't need all the time (extra food!), but other than that really doesn't look that appealing. South looks like it has our most powerful tiles - there may be flood plains down there, or maybe we can set up a town that can share the capital's sugar or BG on some turns. It seems like our second town is most likely to go south or southwest of the capital.

Thoughts?

I would like the cow to be roaded then irrigated as well.

As for exploration, to me it looks like we have coast to the southeast and jungle to the northeast. Therefore, I agree that the West or Southwest are the best targets for exploration.

May I suggest that the exploration begin on the hill sw, sw?

When we get our first warrior I think his first moves should be to the hill 2 tiles SW of Baldric. I also agree with the suggestion to road the cow before irrigating but will leave that up to more knowledgable members.

Why do you think that?

edit: I now see it too, but couldn't it just be a small lake?

Well it is obvious that the cow will be roaded and then irrigated, but I am not to sure where we it would be best for us to explore. Perhaps it might be good then to get another warrior out before our granary?

Considering that it is my function to name the workers, I have decided to just name them in order that people were signed up for this team, so here is the Order.

I also think that it would be wise to have exploration given to the Defense minister so that I can focus on the my main role.

What do you plan on having gbno1fan do as soon as he is done irrigating the cow?

That was a weird sentence to say...

Hey !
When there will be a worker called "Calis" in the future, I insist that he is not going to do such things to/with any animal :mischief:

I was thinking that gbno1fan once irrigates where he is, he roads and mines to the sugar to the SW of Baldric.
Sounds good.

I was withholding comment until I see what gbno1fan orders after the warrior completes ;). I definitely agree that the worker should irrigate the cow immediately and that the BG SW of Baldric is the best tile to improve next.

However, if we are building a second warrior next, I think it is imperative to mine that tile first, then road it - roading it first will cause a one-turn delay in our first settler after the second warrior.

If we go straight to settler after only one warrior, then roading first is better - the settler will complete the same time regardless, but roading first picks up some extra beakers :).
