King
Since this is my third (I think) post on these forums I figure I'll give a little introduction before I get into what I want to do.
Big fan of Civilization and especially Civilization V. I'd say my favorite civilization is probably Rome although it really depends at what type of game I'm looking at. I've been getting into Marathon games recently and starting to enjoy Germany. Which leads into what I'm doing here.
I'm playing a King Huge Marathon game on Continents Plus as Germany.
I've also disable building of the Manhattan project being that there is no solid defense against nuclear weapons now and I like Future Era combat and nukes sort of ruin that a bit for me.
Was inspired by this thread and am hoping to put something out like it, especially the "history-book" style of writing.
Starting from the beginning of the game here so it could be a bit before things get super interesting. Let me know what you think, even if it's "this sux, u suk"
Anyways, into it.
A people calling themselves the Germans created their first settlements on riverbanks near the then-important deposits of stone. It is believed that their leader Bismarck also chose this spot due to its proximity to the Ocean and the riches it provides.
A group of German warriors sent out to explore and secure the region had come across what appears to be remnants of an ancient civilization, the first found by the German people. Ruins of peoples past were spread out wide around the world and often contained secrets that furthered the success of empires.
First contact was made between the Germans and another , the Aztecs. These were the first people outside of Berlin that the Germans had encountered and while he spoke in a strange tongue and rarely wore a shirt, the Aztec leader Montezuma seemed friendly enough. This is probably because he surprisingly did not covet German lands.
The Aztecs were not the only people out there though, roaming barbarians littered the wilderness and threatened the safety of the German people.
(As you can see my Warrior became a Spearfighter, I will be working to try and get more and better screenshots next post, not quite sure what parts you all want to see though, so let me know)
Bismarck knew that his people would not be safe is those savages could be allowed to live. He took action and called for an attack on their camp.
With the day won, the German warriors were able to continue their exploration of ancient ruins.
As time passed a growing sense of respect for child birth and parenthood began to emerge and people started to have more children, causing the German population to more quickly increase. These beliefs have continued through to today.
The Germans later encounter another people, the Austrians. Led by Maria Theresa, it appeared to Bismarck that they could prove to be valuable allies or great foes in the years to come.
While purging the barbarians from the continent, it appears that some of the savages had learned the error of their ways and submitted to Bismarck's rule.
With the assistance of these "Noble Savages", Bismarck was able to map out the northern region of the continent.
Bismarck encountered Sejong of Korean people after Korean travelers visited Berlin.
Bismarck was also famed for his frugal spending and the German people are believed to have been the richest in the world during the early years of his reign.
And that does it for now. I know it could use a little work such as more screenshots but its hard to make things interesting this early in the game. Any ideas and criticisms are welcome.
