I plan to make a few stat changes myself, but Ill consider yours before I do mine.

The thought with the suggested changes is to get
a broad cost-scale for units.
I think its to compressed now.

these should make battles more interesting. but are you going to change any unit graphics into the sengoku thing?

One of the better english translations is Three Kingdoms : A Historical Novel translated by Moss Roberts.

I've seen the Chinese tv series at various sites on the web, but I've never downloaded or purchased it (I wouldn't understand the language, so it's just to much to dl.)

What unit would you use to defend against an attack stat of 30?

A Heavy Pikeman with stats: 5-20-1, shield cost 230.
Only playtest can tell if this will work well.

I finally stopping resisting - I went out yesterday and found it at a local bookstore. They had the series with english subtitles on 58 VCDs, so I bought it. The quality isn't perfect, DVD quality (I'm not sure if that's the nature of the VCD format, or has to do with how it was filmed/edited/burned to disk), but I'm very pleased anyway. Its probably 40+ hours - and I'm only about 3 hours into. It's great.

sounds interesting. :) Tell me how good it is, I might check it out.

the acting and special effects on the television series are terrible to say the least, probably the worst you'll see. also halfway through they change the actors for the same character even when they're not aging?? (like Pang Tong and Lu Su) the whole thing took me about 2 weeks to watch so strap on your seatbelts, cause ur gonna be in for a long ride.

P.S. most of the subtitles are in broken english

Also - some events have been changed. Ex : In the Roberts translation of the novel, Xuande(Liu Bei) and Zhang Fei meet Lord Guan in a tavern. In the TV series, the meeting begins as a fight beween Guan Yu and Zhang Fei, but Liu Bei interrupts then they go back Zhang Fei's home. They swear their oaths inside the house, while over wine, not in the peach garden, like in the novel.

but you can't blame them, a full blown master sfx movie would've taken ages to make. this was probably the best they could throw together at that time (also taking into consideration, the budget).

This is a really, really great scenario, Sarevok. I can't thank you enough for making it.

I'm currently playing as Shu in the Three Kingdoms scenario, and as Wu in Rise of Wei. Both games are going quite well.

I'm even hoping I can get a succession game started based on one of these scenarios.
