[GS] The Two thousand years' war

@Loderingo: Well, yesterday and today I played 30 turns and now I'm handing your save back to you, 200 years later. See, what you can make of it.
Or someone else may pick it up and turn this into some sort of succession game. Or pick the 1400 AD save and show me what amateur I am, which I won't deny for a moment.

Anyway, here's the current State of the Spartan Merchant Republic (Alternative Timeline 1, AD 1600):

Abu Simbel is due to fall next turn. The courser is a bit in jeopardy, but it just pillaged ~460 from that truffle camp.

What I did was shuffling some cards to improve gold situation, getting some builders and putting them to work, getting Magnus and some districts, and then I did some trades.

(On a side note, do get the Concise UI mod - it's modular now, so you can pick and choose, but to make things simpler you can subscribe to the entire long list of the core and modules. The stock UI is just awful, and this mod transforms trading from torture and nightmare into something bearable.)

As a result, Sparta now has a large variety of luxuries to benefit from and is mostly ecstatic with only one city merely happy. Buy all available luxes for lump sum, and you will not need Entertainment districts for a long time.

Then I went and bought some strategic resources from our numerous allies and built/upgraded some troops. Atm Sparta has achieved military parity with Nubia (killed ~8 her knights or so) and the last we've heard from Amanitore she was ready to make peace and pay 33 gpt for 30 turns in reparations, but there's no need for this. Sparta can carry on with this war, the fun is only beginning :D

Buy strategic resources in small quantities turn after turn, in the meanwhile build earlier units and upgrade with Professional Army card. Always leave 1 resource for healing. The battering ram will be your key to walled Amanitore's cities until you get Steel, bring it to a city and then hit it with melee from all sides - see it crumble. Buy 3 more niter and upgrade that cat to bombard (Professional Army is in), but I doubt you'll need more, unless Nubia gets something more advanced soon.
Pay more attention to the cards, only use those which you are benefiting from at the moment, more or less.

I've put in the Raid card. If the courser lives, bring it to safety, heal, and continue pillaging, also build/buy another one, you have enough horses. You'll see how absurdly powerful this is now. Try it out before FXS comes to their senses and nerfs pillaging

I've tried here Victor with Embrasure for the first time, man this guy rocks in a city with Encampment. You placed it well, double shots from city and Encampment helped to kill quite a few Nubian knights.

Also, I saw what it means to get Emergency Aid from the AI - the feeling is you're charging them some sort of microtransactions :D. I've even rejected the first one on reflex, realized only afterwards that it was they who were offering some freebies to me
