The Villagers Provide You With a Map...

The villagers also foresee in the near future a thread being closed becuase it is spamming...

But those square miles of blue could be just what you need to be the first to prove that the world is round ...

Yup, it's amusing to be the first to circumnavigate when you are landlocked in an OCC game.

It also helps to know that there is nothing and you don´t need so send a ship over there...

You most certainly are one of "the glass is half full" type, don't need a degree in psychology to reason this :p

...and several thousand years before astronomy, too! Why couldn't they share that knowledge with you?

Sometimes they do! I've popped Astronomy from a hut before and read somewhere in these forums it was the most advanced tech you can get from a hut.

How do they determine what is the most advanced technology you can receive? Or, better yet, how does the game determine which techs are available for goody huts?

I'm wondering if you can discover Philosophy from a small tribe like you could in Civ3.

Its especially annoying when the hut is nowhere near water

Luckily this doesn't happen too often to me. Of course, neither do techs.

It's almost always 25-40 gold. I've come to be able to rely upon it in games I play with GH's on.

The villagers provide you with a map... with gaping holes in it so that you have to explore the area anyway! Thanks villagers!

You can check it in the XML files.
