This is my first scenario, so don't flame me if I offend you :). This map uses the same geographic boundaries as Zach Wilson's Standard Earth Map that came with the Civ III scenario file (I chose Standard for faster loading time, not that it matters, since the scenario has no units in it). The starting places are the same though. This is a Civ III vanilla scenario, so both PTW and Civ III vanilla players can play it. Anyway, the map's terrain is changed so that the terrain reflects the combined culture, innocence (slaughter wars vs. "honorable" wars), imperialism, cruelty, and avariciousness. Certain sections are punished: the East seaboard of the US for slavery and reverting to imperialism (starting in the 1890's). The US Western seaboard is being punished for cruelty to Native Americans. The Great Plains are also punished for the same crime. European nations are filled with pollution for imperialism, slaughter wars, and cruelty (especially the slave trade by the Spanish). Mongolia is being punished for the "Asian wave" invasions during the medieval era. Japan is punished for the Asian holocaust of WWII. Russia is punished for Stalinist cruelty. West Africa and Congo are being punished for ethnic slaughter wars. Australia is punished for cruelty towards aborigines. I suppose I should punish Colombia for its AUC-FARC war, but I didn't. Oh well. I've added in rivers and extra resources for the well-behaved (European culture + wars = Gold on hill next to river, covered in pollution :)).

Note: This is a CIV II mod, and I don't have the 1.29 patch (I got PTW and didn't bother to download it), so the player starting locations are random. If enough people like this mod, I will post an improved PTW version with full units and all.

Mod changes: most of the rule changes were inspired by Player1Fanatic's rules, give him (or her?) the credit!
Terrain: Flood plains get +2 gold when a road is build, as a reward for high-culture areas.
Deserts, plains, and flood plains get -25% defense bonus, and grassland gets -10% defense bonus, to make cultured regions more suspectable to barbaric civs.

EDIT:
Here's a downloadable screenshot. Read the next post for details. Or better yet, don't. it's very disturbing:nuke:

AACK!! Why can't I attach two files at once?? Aack!!

Here's a screenshot:

I hope it actually shows a picture instead of a string of code that makes me look like a capering fool

--EDIT: Picture coming soon!---

You don't look any more a capering fool than many others who have posted here. ;)

1) You can only attach one (small) file per post. This is to help conserve forum server space. For files larger than 100K, or for multiple links in one post, you should use the File Upload function. Notice, near the bottom of the page, there is a list of Text Buttons. The rightmost one is for "Upload File". If you click it, a dialog box will pop up, which will guide you through the process. ;)

2) You are on the right track with your attempt to display a screenshot, but remember, we can't see your "C:" drive across the net. Upload the .jpg image to the file server, and enclose the new url for it between the "IMG" tags.

If you still have difficulties, don't hesitate to ask questions. :)

Thanks, Padma. I'll be working on that (I have some problems and I PMed you).

To everyone else:
Comments? Suggestions? Feedback? I'm not looking for encouragement or anything. Just feedback. Tell me what to improve, and I'll try to do it.

Just so you guys know, after 50 people downloads this file, I'll put up a MUCH more improved PTW version. Guaranteed!:egypt:

Please, name ONE civilization in history that was "good". Just ONE.

Columbia, Somalia, Ethopia, Libya, Egypt, Algeria, India, Pakistan, the entire Middle East, China, southeastern Asia, Korea, all of Europe, and Cuba, just to name a FEW areas, all should be "punished" for various crimes and wars.

By the way, I'd suggest using a better world map. No offense, but that is a TERRIBLE world map. Hmmm, it came with Civ III? Geez, how did this get included?

I will add though, the concept of this "scenario" is quite good.

Hey Procifica what about America. Shouldn't they be punished for something (perhaps dropping two Atom bombs without warning)? And then there is the slave trade (which should punish all of Europe as well).

He's already punished America and parts of Europe, these are areas which he HASN'T punished.

What's the, well, point of this scenario?

I'd vote "the entire concept is crazy", except a) that's not necessarily a bad thing, and b) I can't for the life of me figure out what the concept is. Whatever it is, it's still crazy, tho'.
