Conquests only!!

To read the backround, read the introduction.

So, let's get to the point. Here is two downloads: Units and the main file.

Main files
http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads6/TheZuluWar.zip

Unit fileshttp://www.civfanatics.net/uploads6/Units1.zip

I just get in mind that the installation instructions in the readme is wrong. So here is the correct ones.

1.Unzip the "Units" and "TheZuluWar" folder.
2.Paste the "Units" folder into the "Art" folder.
3.Then paste the BIQ-file and "TheZuluWar" folder into Conquests\Scenarios.
4.Now you should be able to play.

If any bugs, please tell me.

Luddi VII - let me be the first to congratulate you on a great scenario! :) However I've found is that the game will crash if the civilopedia for the British Zulu Riflemen is displayed - you should warn people as you try to sort it out. Also I would change the colour of England to Red - traditional colour due to the red coats, etc.

Uh yes.. the colors need change. The Afrikaners should be Orange, the British should be red, and the Zulu's yellow, brown, black, something around there. Perhaps you should create an Anglo-Boer War scenario.. There were two of them, the Boer's won the first, yet lost the second. The use of the Union Jack leaderhead, the Oranje Vrrystaat flag I requested, and the Zulu flag would make it very nice too. The leaderheads would be nice for this scenario as well.

I liked this scenario. I've been learning South Africa's history recently and I think you depicted this scenario pretty accurately. :goodjob:

If you want to you can also add German East Africa, German Tanganyika, Portuguese Angola, and Portuguese Mozambique.

I am not quite sure about your frontiers.

What war is it ?

Second war would probably be the easiest to represent and I (of course you did not ask for my opinion but :p ) I would make Transvaal and Orange Free State (cap Bloemenfountain) two different Boer states in Locked Alliance. You could also add the New Republics (Gosen, New Republik and Stellaland) as another locked alliance state. Natal would be an English province though (Durban) and so would Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) or Bechuanaland (that last one seems represented here).
Blacks would be in Swaziland, Basuto, Grikaland, Pondo, Tembu and Transkei "states" (English didived for controlling). + some Zulus in-between major "countries".

Even if Germany or Portugal could not play a part in the "game", I think at least Portuguese Mozambique should be represented as a gateway towards the sea (could provide useful resources or act as a market) while otherwise the Boer States were completely embargoed by the surrounding English areas.

Units : the musketman looks out of place (early XXth century !!!) ;)
The English could have a Kaffir unit of something since the Kaffir (spelling in Eng ?) had been long controlled by the English and had already been used against the Zulus.

If you need other leaders: for Boers : Smuts, Botha
for English : Kitchener :p

My 2 cents. Otherwise :goodjob:

Great!

Finding it hard the zulu're pretty tough:goodjob:

how did you post your screen shots ?

i meant how do i take a screen shot in the first place, posting something is not a problem

1. If in the CivIII Editor just open paint (I use paint) or any else picture or graphic editor. Then press the "Print Screen" button on the keybord and paste it into paint or something else picture or graphic editor. And save it.

2. If in the game: I use the keybord shortcut to the start menu and open paint, or you can open any other picture or graphic editor. Then press on the "Print Screen" button and paste it into the graphic editor or of course paint. And save it.That's all.

I hope this should help.:)

your README is incorrect. this is how it should read:

1.Unzip the "Units" and "TheZuluWar" folder.
2.Paste the BIQ-file and "TheZuluWar" folder into Conquests\Scenarios.
3.Paste the "Units" folder into the Conquests\Scenarios\TheZuluWar\Art folder.
4.Now you should be able to play.

You gave the wrong folder to put the Units into(you made it sound like it was in the main directory). If you want it to be in the main directory, then tell them to extract the contents of the Units folder into the Art\Units folder. if they unzip the whole folder directly into the Art directory, It'll overwrite all the other Units that came with the game. Nice scenario, BTW! :goodjob:
