TheConglomerate

Oh yeah, something is def wrong. It's happening with me too, bro. Every single mod and custom map. Like Onionsolider said...it has something to do with the CvEventInterface. My log files say...

ERR: Call function onEvent failed. Can't find module CvEventInterface

Yep, I see that error, however there seems to be lots of these python files on my comp, including in the conglomerate mod (assets\python\entrypoints). Weird that it says it can't find it...

You are right, garbage0707, even after removing everything and reinstalling, I'm having the same exact issue...

Lol, yes, first thing I did before installing the conglomerate mod...

I'm willing to do whatever you need me to do to resolve, Onionsoilder, which should be a compliment! Just let me know how I can help... I'm currently trying to comb through these python and .h header files to see if I can fudge it, but I doubt I will get that lucky...

The key things seem to be:

1. In the PythonErr.log
Code:
File "<string>", line 7, in write
Boost.Python
.
ArgumentError
:
Python argument types in
    CyPythonMgr.debugMsg(CyPythonMgr, unicode)
did not match C++ signature:
    debugMsg(class CyPythonMgr {lvalue}, class std::basic_string<char,struct std::char_traits<char>,class std::allocator<char> >)

2. In the XML.log files there are tons of 'info type NONE not found' errors (not sure if this matters).

If, as you said, this happens with all mods, then the problem wouldn't be located in the mod files. May I ask what your computer's specs are?

Yeah, Im all patched up. Im currently playing on a Dell Latitude E6400. It's mt work computer but it works for most games. It has Core Duo, 2.40Ghz and 4 gb of ram. My video card is an NVIDIA quadro NVS 160m. Not really a gaming card but it has 512 onboard memory. 100 gb of free space.... Does that help any?

There are now only 2 mods installed since I uninstalled/reinstalled. Every mod that comes with Civ4 bts works fine as well as 'Extra 3.17g'.

Comp specs:
Q6600 Quad core running Windows Vista Home Premium
2 Gigs RAM
Nvidia Geforce 8800 GT

Not sure what else you might want/need, if anything let me know.

Well, I'm stumped. Both of those look just fine for running Civ IV(Though 2 GB is a little on the small side for Vista) I really have no idea...

Doh! Well, lets start with square one. Do you think it may be a paticular mod that could be causing this? It might may be worth to install each mod indivdually and see if any of them are producing this error. This may help narrow it down. Ill try doing this later

Well, I think I was able to resolve the problem.

Here's what I did:

1. Install the BUG mod 3.5.1 AS A MOD.
2. Copy everything in the python folder for the BUG mod (in my case C:\Users\<user>\Documents\My Games\Beyond the Sword\MODS\BUG Mod 3.5.1\Assets\Python
3. Paste all of that in the conglomerate mod python folder (in my case E:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods\TheConglomerate\Assets\Python) replacing any and all existing files.

Now when I start a new 'Play Now!" game, I have an interface. I have no idea if this breaks something else or if there are problems with other game modes etc, but at least it's a start...

I've also tried a custom advanced start game and so far so good, I will post if I run into issues.

Yep, I have lots of errors too... seems like most of them have to do with the AI choosing it's production, which is why I put the disclaimer that I have no idea what else this is breaking.

But at least it is playable now and I think it conclusively rules out any possible hardware/sysconfig issues with our rigs...

I logged in with the admin profile and bada bing, it loaded up fine. I was having a couple other issues with my laptop so I also disabled many things on startup & deleted my temp files. Wayninja, give this a shot and report back your results. I also googled the error that I was finding in the log files, and found some things poining to goofy permission settings in vista. Im actually running xp but I remember saying your using Vista. If logging in under another profile or recreating your profile doesnt work...shoot me an email or post back.

My only account is an administrator and I tried using the 'run as administrator' with no positive results...

I'm confused as to why all mods would work running as my current priviledge (local admin), but this mod would require something special, it also doesn't make sense that copying python files would change things if the same priviledge was used... I don't like it when things don't make any sense...

This is a pretty cool mod.

I seem to have a strange bug though. Every turn the game tells me something like "Your land area: ## (##%) goes over the Domination limit." and "Your population: ## (##%) goes over the Domination Limit."

I was just wondering if anyone else has the bug or some way to fix it.

That is related to the BUG mod(Which, despite it's name, is not a bug) and is easily disabled. When you are in-game, hit Ctrl+Alt+O to bring up the BUG options screen. One of the tabs will be labeled "Victories" or something like that. Click on it, then find where it says "Alert when reaching domination land/population limit". Uncheck those boxes, and continue gameplay.

Downloaded this mod 2 days ago, playing 10 to 12 hours on and off and so far no problems, great stuff! Thanks Onionsoilder for merging all those great mods in a super great mod.

Yes , I'm playing through with no glitches or problems. Really good game so far, but I won't bore you with the details.

WolfRev was a great game to play, but with mastery on top - it's more or less the perfect civ game for me.

Thanks for the input guys. If there is anything else you would like to see, such as new units, techs, etc, just let me know. If it fits into the existing mod well and doesn't cause
'clutter', I might add it in next patch.
