Things I learned about the science of warfare through Civilization IV

In Civ IV, if you settle a Great Person inside a city as a Great Specialist, he or she is rendered immortal. (unless the city is razed)

There is no educational system in civ. Each person get's his choice of... Wait, he doesn't get a choice.

Killing Cavalry never leaves a single horse, but the horse is never killed first, leaving the Cavalry as wounded rifelmen either.

1. Genghis and Kublai Khan are Communists.
2. Caravels have magical force fields around them that repel every human being around them except for Scouts, Explorers, Spies, Missionaries and Great People.

Groups of People can only fight one on one in aristocratic duels. Because 5000 spearmen can not attack a tank as one mass. That is why zombies always lose.

The Mace is superior to the sword. Unless that sword is wielded by an Italian, in which case the Mace is superior when attacking guys who have melee weapons.

If I load up a fridge on my galley, then it will also serve as an alternate source of power to increase my sailing speed.

In Civ IV, if you look closely enough, the monorail in the public transportation only stops at one station.

In CIv IV, if you do a recon on an enemy city, they don't shoot you down, but if you start bombing them, they'll try to.

This thread manages to keep some way of not going dead.

A wise man from one of your cities is able to tell you what religion is founded from across a continent. And yet, you cannot even see it.

Can't believe this hasn't been mentioned yet:

Modern cities feel protected by a loinclothed warrior wielding a club. They demand military protection if the only unit protecting the city is a gunship. This is because gunships were constructed without doors so once the horseman was placed in it, he could never leave to patrol the streets.

(It always struck me as weird that a 2 strength warrior makes citizens feel safe, but a 20 strength gunship does not.)

I believe that it has been said before in this thread, but yeah, you're right, it doesn't make much sense.

Just like how (and this has been said before, lol many of us think of the same things which shows how funny and standing out they are) an enemy warrior could raze a modern metropolis if it doesn't have any military units, because apparently a man with a club can defeat the police force, swat teams, civilians who could just arm themselves with knives/stuff more advanced than clubs (or, in the case of Americans and whatever other civilizations that allow civilians to own firearms, GUNS) or drive over the warrior in a car or truck, firefighters (whose axes would outmatch wooden clubs) and this warrior could somehow raze the city, destroying its skyscrapers and even the Pentagon. :crazyeye:
