Things you just can't resist

Getting all religions, building the Great Wall and pretty much any wonder I can lay my production on!
Settler is good for such ideals!

O.K. I'll admit to having done that. It's especially fun on a archipelago map doing a sun never sets on your empire scenario.

I don't build all wonders though.

I let the AI have the AP, Sheygon Pa, Chichen Itza and the Sistine Chapel.

I hate it when they get Versailles though. I want to save it for a city that needs it, not for some AI to place it where they feel

Attacking a large stack of my annoying neighbor army. Just when they got across my border to conquer another civilization city. Usually end up losing some siege units but with plenty EXP to pop up grate general.

I cannot remember the last game in which I did not chase/get Liberalism...

I absolutely MUST get all the free great people. (from techs)
Sometimes i will research Music to get the artist, when i should really be researching Civil Service and making macemen :).

Using one Great Artist to do the job of seven or eight cavalry units in ...persuading cities to join my culture.

Another thing I can't resist is privateers, and plenty of them! The last archipelago map I played I was making 20+ gold per turn from my privateer plundrings. I just can't bring myself to upgrading them, the anonymous commerce raiding is is too lucrative!

Yes, exactly man! I love building two privateers at a time (one for attacking and one for healing). Then I send out about 40 of 'em, and after 100 years of pirating or so, they turn into great destroyers!!! Plus I net a couple thousand gold or so.

DoWing on anyone who have built the Pyramids before me - or any other wonder or tech for that matter.

The Great Library
Engineer specialists

Ditto with the religion thing. I love founding an early religion for the economic boost. i always want the great wall because theres nothing better than seeing the warning about a barb uprising and watching the stack of barb archers bypass your civ to go attack your neighbor.

and i'm a goodie hut hog. I always try to pop them all so I can get hopefully, a lot of coin to fuel my science at 100 or 90 % until I can streamline the economy.

I don't know if this is always the best course of action, but I always try to hem in other civs with city placement. I won't place cities badly for it, but I always try to stunt their growth. Its easier to beat a small civ than face a gigantic rival later in the game.

Thing I can't resist:

Not building Stonehenge and wondering why I'm not getting any Great Prophets to help my economy out with the early religions!

Building every building I can in a city before producing any military units.

In my emperor game right now, I could easily conquer the world if I'd simply build military units, but I won't until I've stuffed all my cities with buildings.

Playing the great liberator and returning to the original owner every cities my enemies had took from them.

Building the Paya and adopting Free Religion in the BCs.

Using Representation even if I'm not running an SE economy.

Building almost every building in almost every city I have.

Its a horrible habit, and once I learn to break it, I am sure I will finally be an "immortal" level player, heh.

I HAVE learned to time my buildings better, for example, getting most of the +commerce buildings in my commerce cities first, etc, so I am close to my goal.

Oh, and I even build Universities and Observatories in my HE city, heh, it has so much production!, LOL, I suck at specializing.

Three words, flood plain tiles. I must use all of them. Even if it means I have the most unhealthy city ever. The tiles are great, but I will place cities in less than optimal places just to use them all. I don't know why.

Heathen

Edit: Also, I must prove the world is round (even on maps where the benefit is minimal).

I'm of the opinion that on toroidal maps, the notification of circumnavigation should read, "Your maps have proven the world is a doughnut!"
