I'm thinking of an older game. It's for Nintendo 64. It starts off with the player in a laboratory, where scientists are working. Then after you go to this one room in the game, you witness one of your scientist colleagues get killed by a spectral (invisible-like) entity. There are a lot of other entities, and I believe there are different species of them too. The game was very hard, or atleast it was for me. Apparently later on in the game, as you back-track, you can find the research lab full of these glass containment chambers. Inside one of these chambers there is one of the spectral entities, banging on the glass, trying to get out, but he never does, atleast not at that part.

I believe it was a third-person survival horror game, but it may have used fixed-camera angels instead of first-person, I don't remember. Oh, and I remember that your fighting moves involved like doing certain types of punches, kicks, throws, and other melee attacks as opposed to using guns (atleast at the part I was at). The fighting was sort of like Final Fantasy, I think, but not really. I mean like it had the attack menus like Final Fantasy, but I don't think the game actually like paused and went into a battle arena, like it was real-time, and you could run around in the open environment while performing these moves.

Some of the spectral entities, like the one who kills the first scientist has like knives for hands or something like that. They aren't entirely invisible, like you can see like fluctuations and what-not in them, if I recall. I know it's for Nintendo 64, but it may also be on other systems. I can't remember the name of this game, could anyone help me out?

It's like when you start to ask someone a question and then part way through the asking you realize the answer. As an example, why is this thread even still open? Shouldn't a moderator have closed this by.....oh yeah, Moderator Action: Thread closed.
