... have you ever found a way to "shortcut" by the poles? I mean that normally, on Earth, to go from Europe to the US (for instance), you can go to the North Pole and then fly heading south to the US. This is faster than crossing Atlantic.
Unfortunately you cannot do that neither in Civ1, nor in Civ2. The realism is bad

So as I said, is there a way to do that? (assuming you have understood what I tried to explain

)

Nope, as far as I know, the only thing you can do at the poles is walk around "the long way"

Sometimes i have found that the poles lead to other contenints and that way you don't have to use ship

I love the poles!

I usually put a explorer on each pole and just let them explore away...usually get quite a few huts from it too.
