Thoughts on David Blaine

David Blaine and his 44 day Hungary Strike has caused some controversy in the City of London
and I was wondering what other people thought.

Its cause problems with traffic jams, and a large number of people have jeered him and
throw eggs and golf balls! at hin in his glass box.
I think the best so far has be one of the Newspaper to hire a top chef to have an all day barbeque..


I don't know much about him thou his supposed to be a good magician/illusionist from the US
but personally I think it is in very poor taste and he should be deported from the country.!!

David Blaine i a magician with a penchant for publicity stunts. He's had himself frozen in a block of ice in Times Square, for example. This is just his latest work.

He apparently did some math and figured 44 days was the longest he could go without food.

I can't believe how hopped up the British have become over him. Nobody paid any attention when he did such things in America (except for the media), but, I admit, he never did something for that long here. It is kind of amusing, actually.

I think he's amazing.

I find all the people mmocking him to be ridiculous and immature...they cannot even comprehend what a feat of endurance this is. Having said that, I think it will be even more of an achievement for Blaine to succeed given all the crap he's suffered from the public.

Disagree, think it is a disgraceful stunt, starving yourself for money is sick.

There are millions of people who are genuinely have to go hungry in the world,
and it isn't a nice way to die.

And has it occurred to you he is probably cheating anyways?

hello, who says he's doing it for the money? Clearly by setting himself such an ambitious target he's doing it for the achievement.

And yes, there is a possibility he's cheating but I don;t think he is...also, he is in full view 24/7 so someone might notice if he cheated...

Mmmm fair point but I dont think starving yourself is a very noble way to test your potential,

Why doesn't he spend 40 days in Africa helping the starving people there.

Sitting in a box like some Circus attraction doesn't come remotely close to the attachment of going to the moon.

Yes indeed, and that is why I think he's not doing it for the money; he's very rich anyway and $5m wouldn't be that big a deal to him, and I can't imagine anyone willing to risk so much for money when they don;t really need it.

The main thing people have a problem with him is that some of his stunts simply aren't amazing. 44 days without food isn't that big. The longest hunger strike was over 100 days, well over 100 days. It's no bigdeal. And that block of Ice gage was lame.
