I have a 166mhz with 48mb ram, a 1gb hdd and a 2gb hdd, with pretty lousy sound and graphics. In short my computer is almost ready for the trash.

I am well aware that this (civII) is the last Civ version that this computer will see and I know full well that in order to play I will need to go and buy a whole new system, and I will.

I doubt that the requirement wil be as high as 400mhz. The game simply doesn't require that much speed. I would say about 230-300mhz with 32 or 64mb.

I'm hoping not to have to upgrade, but you're probably right. Don't know if I can convince my wife to spend money on upgrading our computer just so I can spend even *more* time playing Civ instead of being with the family, o yeah, after spending who knows what on a new game, too. Wish me luck, when the time comes...
