Time for Sox fans to worry yet?

Wow, the BoSox won a close game. After they blew a 6-point lead :p

What was the last team they swept?

Foulke has 2 blown saves in a row  , very unusual for him  .
Next thing you will hear is they are looking a new closer :mischief: .

let's see .... I think the last team they swept was KC when they came to Fenway. I believe that was after the Yankees series anyhow....

I think the problem with Foulke is that he's not getting enough work. I think he has come into the game more when they have a 6 or so run lead lately than not. Like Wakefield, he's a guy that needs to work consistently. I mean he did have almost a week off.

And no, we don't need a closer, but I'm not holding my breath for the Big Unit either, even though Theo is gonna be putting on the full-court press next week.

I just heard on the Hot List that Randy Johnson has waived his no-trade clause and wouldnt mind going to the BoSox....or the Yankees.

If the Yanks get him, bye bye BoSox for this year :wavey: . If BoSox get
him it should be VERY interesting pennant race :scan: :cooool: .

That's funny, all I've heard on the radio today is that he's willing to waive his clause, and that he's VERY interested in going to......

THE YANKEES!! :suicide:

this is the most overhyped rivalry in all of american sports

If you think this is "overhyped", you must not spend any time in the NE. We are a very passionate people when it comes to our sports around here.

Show me another rivalry that has raged this long, and with this intensity, where one team always comes out ahead of the other.

For me, hating the Yankees isn't a choice, it's heritage. ;)

Yea, if thats overhyped, what isnt.

For me, Dallas vs Washington in the NFL is very overrated. Given that we own them ;)

Yeah, even though I hate the Cowboys (goes back ten or so years now...), I have to admit I thought it was hilarious that for all Snyder's money, he can't buy a win from the Cowgirls. Even when they went 5-11 or whatever, two of those wins were vs Washington.

A rivalry would require Boston to win occasionally (when it matters, not in April).:) They couldn't even beat the Mets, the Yankees' younger brother, the one chance they had. :D

The problem is, Boston is always good. But never quite good enough. That must be depressing. Well, for them, not me.

Oh, the pain if Boston comes through this year. They have the current advantage with the starting rotation. If the Yanks get the Unit, that's it. If the Sox get him, look out, it will get very interesting. Would Schilling, Pedro, and Johnson lose a playoff series? I can't see it, if they all can stay healthy.

What a pity last year there wasn't a Cubs - Red Sox series. Cursed fate left baseball fans out of a sox or cubs title once again.

The Sox figure out another way to lose to the Yanks. I have to tell you, after 40 years of watching this, it starts to wear on you. :crazyeye:

You would surprised.

9.5 games back! We almost must win the other two games in this series, and then we have to settle for the wild card.

Sesn said that New Englanders are very serious about their sports. Here in NYC, the Mets fans keep on talking about the farm system, and the Yankee fans aren't very serious, expecting the team to win every WS. For some reason I tend to be much more serious with sports than other sports fans here, not including the only other Red Sox fan in all of NYC. Maybe it has something to do with losing? :p

What do you guys think about yesterday's fight? In my opinion T Nixon and

D Ortiz need a good :spank: , if not a :hammer: , both of them attempted

cheap shots on Sturtz as he was on the ground wrestling. Interesting to

see what would have happened if Ortiz would have made it up to bat the

next inning :scan:  . I would have pegged him GOOOOOD ;) .

Sox play dirty. They're not going to even get into the playoffs. The A's are far better.

In my opinion Sturtze needs :spank: too because he actually initiated that mini fight.

Anyway, any Bostonians care to tell me what the Boston Globe (or any local newspaper) says about it? The local newspapers here in NYC are really harsh toward the Red Sox, as well as acting really optimistic (from a Yankees' point of view)

heh, with Huddy hurt and Zito performing poorly, I'd have to disagree with ya. :p

It's nice to see A-Rod feel some pain, too.
