Timing of Cossack lies around T65-70. Combined with "War of Religion" card, cossacks can be as much as 71 strength. This is enough to directly attack <50 defense walled cities. Especially when you also have a Great General.

Below shows an example. Though born on desert, Russia still manage to get Cossack( and also the grandmaster's chapel and a GG) at T66. (In fact Russia is strong enough to make it every game, even on MPs.) Suleiman has gunpowder but he doesn't have nitre, so only ~50 knight defense cities, good target for Cossack.

You have 10 cities in about 65 turns with +110 of science and +90 of culture.. Really impressive !
I'm interested too about your strategy

Online speed if you were unaware. Also note he has chopped everything and placed a lot of mines. Lily will normally only provide the basics of the efficiency and tends to mock the speed of others. Regardless a very good player.

Not a good map actually. In fact I guess T65-70 is for every usual map.

Also the thing is that I don't know how to control Golden age point. It can be 200+ science with monasticism, however Russia gets so many golden age points.
 
Yes. To be fair we know that once you have that science/culture output, every era will be golden anyway. It is just hard for Russia to go dark.
So many maps have big desert now

In fact on online speed golden age is more balanced. You only have 20 turns, however the requirement of golden age is only reduced by 3, compared with standard speed. So if you don't focus you'll likely fall into normal age.(which is the most terrible one)
 
I can consistently blaze through Goldens up to Industrial (in Multi, online speed, as Russia) but by Industrial I've gone so fast that I can't get enough points and may actually end up Dark.

The trick to Cossaks in MP is to take your opponents unaware. Anyone familiar with Russia as an opponent will pressure them early to take advantage of their frontal lack of science and lack of units due to the advanced tech beeline. Also even Medieval Walls can shut down Cossaks.

I was aware of the online speed, power of monumentality and Lavras. I can already win sub 200 Deity and am looking to improve but the posts are too vague. I know he's a great player which is why I'm asking. There are some Deity streamers that are good, but honestly not too much better than myself and I'm trying to make a big leap. I took my game to another level when understanding the power of harvesting everything, the pop 10 cap, severely limiting IZs, etc. But I have a ways to go.

Unfortunately I don't understand Chinese because there's a video series that appears to be exactly what I'm looking for. Regardless, I appreciate every post from everyone.

Oh you get the most meaningless part. In fact these mines are only for accelerating the Forbidden Palace. I can go without it. Since I get Cossack in time, however I use my extra hammers, accelerating forbidden palace, or just build workers, or build districts, these options doesn't make big differences.

Because there's actually no much technical differences. If you can get Cossack within T70 (or T110~120 standard speed I guess) all other things don't make much difference. You can do whatever you want. I'm a casual player so I don't care much about efficiency, however one thing you shall remember is not to delay any timings.

If you find a good place to settle, don't wait for Ancestral Hall, Magnus and +50% policy, build a settler right now to settle.

If you have a good thing to mine/plant, don't wait for the plantation eureka or builder +30% policy, plant it right now.

If you have War-Cart, don't wait for Manuever, start building them from T0.

If you are in war, don't wait for Archery Eureka or 50% policy, start building up your troops right now.

If you want to destroy your enemy, don't wait for a Cesus Belli, start a surprise war right now.

The chopping is not meaningless, and you built the mines, still the same lily we have always known..
