TNT Files - Term 6

I see no reason not to accept - even if TNT wanted to explore our lands, I really don't fear them at all. I don't think our sentry is all that useful - Dnuts know exactly where our warrior is and could easily attack TNT without us being aware in advance.

Title ... Good Sailing
Greeting greekguy and all citizens of TNT.

Thankyou for your proposal, a delight to read a diplomatic message that was offering something for nothing.

We of course accept and look forward to visiting your lands in due course, perhaps you could point out some lovely sites to visit :goodjob:

Although you asked for nothing, we in turn offer you the freedom of coastal sea travel for your Curragh Western Expedition. You have nothing to fear from us when sailing in our borders, ware the KISS though, we have sighted their sails near our waters.

Regarding the KISS, a shakey peace still exists between our nations.

As soon as you can inform us of the completion of Engineering please let us know.

Fare Thee Well in Peace.

Responce from TNT

Dear MIA,

My people are extremely grateful that you are allowing our Western Curragh access to your waters. This will greatly aid our expedition's goal of piecing together an accurate world map. We also will be on the lookout for KISS vessels, as per your warning.

Also, your warrior will surely see great things on his journey through our lands, although the Sacred Jungle is a bit bland. When you reach our civ core, however, things get more interesting, with fertile flood plains, productive grasslands, and rolling hills. Please enjoy the scenery of the TNT homeland. :) Also, if you have the time, we would appreciate it if you could scout out some Iroqi territory for us. It would be very useful to us if you could bring back word of Iroqi land.

Bye for now.

greekguy, TNT Greek Ambassador

According to Chamnix there are two teams with Engineering ... and TNT mentioned that they are 8 away ... that implies that KISS and Nuts have an relationship where they swap techs.

This addeed to a comment from Whomp indicating that they don't want our techs ... basically cement this suspicion !!!

Therefore do we tell TNT about this?

I say yes ... and then get a fuller picture of what they are doing in relations to domestic strategy and of course at what level they are researching.

What do you all think ???

I agree. If KISS and Dnuts have a working relationship, we need to put more pressure on TNT. I foresee that a KISS-Dnuts tech trade agreement would get ahead faster than our MIA-TNT agreement. Especially if the world is peaceful.

Also, if the research rate of TNT + MIA (assuming we trade techs with them, splitting the tree in half) is slower than the research rate we can achieve at a deficit rate on our own, we should seriously consider telling TNT to halt research funding, and pay us gold per turn to keep up the deficit rate. We could sell them the techs at a discounted rate, as long as the benefit for us is a faster research rate.

I would not get TNT to cease scientific research as it is one of their traits ... but I think we could probably get a good start on Theology while they are still completing Engineering.

We still have a substantial lead on the others ... none have Feudalism nor Monotheism.

I propose in lieu of confirmed suspiciaon that we sent TNT a message ...

Dear greekguy

It seems that our suspicions have been confirmed by the latest issue of the Doughnutian Gazette.

The MIA leadership would like to share some interesting information that you may not be aware of, according to the Nutter press they now have Engineering, however our analysis of the scientific environment indicates that they are not the only team in pocession of this knowledge !!

Therefore by default, the only other team with the ability to build bridges would be KISS  which can only lead to one disturbing conclusion, that KISS and the Nutters have formed a strong alliance which at the very least involves them researching and swapping separate technologies.

In lieu of this we have decided to explore a little further the lands to your south. This is in no way a slight on your open invitation to tour your lands, but at this stage we feel it necessary to gain all the intelegence that we can on your neighbour. If and Meleet be praised :worship: that we can convince KISS that peace is a much better option than war, it may be a prudent option to send another unit over to your lands to see the sights of which you speak.

Now that the NutKISS alliance has been broadcast to the world, we feel that we should talk at length about options where by we may together counter this threat ... I would like to chat on AIM (fe3333au) at your earliest convenience.

We would also like to congratulate TNT on being the first to secure the silk luxury, a pity that you did not gain contol of 3 as you would then have a monopoly, and the Nuts would still be able to control one.

We will have the knowledge of Chivalry soon and will trade it for Engineering when you have completed it ... however if you are threatened prior to this date, be secure in the knowledge that MIA will send it to you post haste.

MIA feel that it may be wise to discuss a strategy where both teams are aware of each others research paths and beaker rate, expansion plans and are able to offer support if needed.

I await your responce and hopefully a mutual time where we can discuss at length ideas to counter the recent developments.

btw ... to save on pigeon post, could you send all replies just to me and to the MIA g-mail box :D

This draft is open to input

EDIT ... have incorporated C_H's request.

Looks very nice!

I like it.

No complaints or changes from me.

Good idea on this. I'm wondering if we can get them to Monopolize the silks - or send one of our settlers to grab the last one.

I don't want KISS or DNUT to get that extra luxury. Preventing them from it will hold back their research.

One other option that just occurred to me: we could station a unit on the spices, but then we'd be down a unit that's better used elsewhere...

Regarding Silk and Gems ... I suspect that part of the peace deal equally divided the luxes.

Title ... Read it in the Paper (interesting language point, wanted to indicate past tense  damn language, a bastard of many)

Strategically, we feel it a wiser use of resources to grab the opportunity to keep the original traveller way down south.

Now that their 'secret' Nut KISSing alliance has been broadcast to the world, we feel that we should talk at length about options where by we may together counter this threat ... I would like to chat on AIM (fe3333au) at your earliest convenience.

OK ... I have requested a chat with TNT, maybe they will give us warning, but probably not.

Therefore I would like you guys to input ... add and expand and advise ...

A list topics to discuss and points to bring up.

1. Lux, why didn't they grab more silk?
2. How fast are they expanding?
3. Research Rate?
4. If peace with KISS, they should post lookouts cos they are the logical target!
5. What aid could and would either of us give the other if anything, if attacked?
6. They have invited us to visit, how will we react if they request ROP?

Thoughts ...
