Really? I haven't yet tried that, because it takes a long time for me to iniate a war and feel confident that I can take the civ on.

Do NOT believe Grey Fox. It does not end when you declare war. It only ends when you finish war.

And HB, it would take a lot less time for you to initiate a war if you built those horsemen/knights/cavalry like we discussed in that other thread!

Let's get it straight:

You can end mobilization:
* you are in peace with _everyone_, then declaring war
* you are in war with one or more powers, then making peace with at least one power
* swithing government

...is this correct?

No you can't end mobilization if you are at peace with everyone and declare war. You can't. The other two are correct.

I have to test it then... I havn't mobilized for quite a while... so It might have been changed in any of the recent patches.

I just recently tried moblization again, in the mac GOTM7. The assigned goal was conquest. Once I had all the infrastructure I needed, I switched over to war-time economy and cranked out MA & tactical nukes. The game was over in about 25 turns.

I think people misunderstand couple of things. "You can end mobilization" means that you go to domestic advisor and set it back to normalicy (after at least one peace is declarated). However, it sets back to normlity automaticly if you declare peace with everyone.

My guess, that if you mobilize in peace time and declare war you can set normalicy back (it will not happend automaticly). However, it needs testing (can not test it myself right now -- no save file of game around Nationalism and later).
