Too many units from Military CS

In my curent game I have one Mil CS ally and two Mil CS friends and I've received about 10 units in ~60 turns, sometimes receiving two units in two consecutive turns! I think there must be a bug at work here.

Isn't that working as intended? Ally gives every ~10 turns, friends ~every 20, so you would expect to get ~12 units in 60 turns, no?
Or do I have the intended effects wrong? I'm not sure.

Iirc, before the recent mechanic change it was about 17 turns between units for one ally, with multiple allies reducing the number. I was also under the impression that the mil CS points went into a global pool so as to prevent units showing up on consecutive turns; but you may be right - without any UI references or info in tooltips it's difficult to tell.

I've added an onscreen display of the militaristic unit reward pool for v106.1 to make the process more transparent. The display should help clarify if there's an error or not.

Hmm... that does sound familiar, so it would be 34 turns for a friend?

So in 60 turns with ally + 2 friends you would expect to get (60/17 + 2*60/34) = 7 units.

I've added an onscreen display of the militaristic unit reward pool for v106.1 to make the process more transparent.
thanks!

Still on v104, cannot request that the military CS stop spawning units.
Why would you ever want to do this?
You can always disband units they make for gold, if needed, or gift them to CS for influence. Just MM hassle?

I'm also getting a variation of this bug. After allying with a military CS, I get my first unit after about 15 turns or so (epic speed, small map). After I get this first unit, I get a new unit each subsequent turn.

I have deleted cache and restarted as well as removed all mods and reinstalled. Current mods in use are:

VEM 1.08
CSDM: v26
CivWillard
InfoAddict
TreeGrowth

I am currently trying a new game with Thal's Diplomacy mod turned off. I'll let you know how that goes.

UPDATE: I don't have this issue with Thal's Diplo mod turned off, so it doesn't appear to be a compatibility issue with CSDM v26.

Tree growth is out of date and incompatible with current versions of Civ.

After you get your first unit, what does the reward counter look like each subsequent turn? The counter shows when you hover your mouse over the citystate's city banner.

I deleted my ModUserData as well as my Cache folder (again). Still got this bug. Here is a screeny.

That's interesting... on the next turn it should reach 75/75 and loop back around to 0/75. I wonder why it's not doing that?

I do see I should round the influence per turn change on the tooltip, but that wouldn't affect gameplay.

If it doesn't work in today's v108.1 beta, please link a zip file containing these things:

  • Savegame where the problem occurs.
  • /Mods folder
  • /ModUserData folder
  • /Cache folder

Okay, maybe someday someone will truly understand how the mod loading works in this game, but not today. I loaded the game from above and verified that the bug still occurred. I then deleted my ModUserData and cache, removed CSDM and TreeGrowth and started a new game. The bug did not occur in that game. I went back and added CSDM, the bug did not occur in that game as well. So, I don't know how, but perhaps TreeGrowth was causing the problem? There were other minor bugs that seemed to work themselves out and the game appears to be running as it should now.

Also, just want to say how grateful I am to you and the other modders out there. This game would not be nearly as fun without your hard work. You are doing a fantastic job of not only making the game a lot more interesting, but also with support and follow through. You are providing better support than some developers that are paid for their services!

Anyway, thanks again and keep up the good work.
