Tooltip for improvement benefits completely wrong?

I can't believe I just noticed this but the tooltips for improvement benefits are completely wrong / messed up right? When you hover over an improvement icon with your worker, it shows you +X +Y etc of how much the improvement will add. However most of the time it just shows you the total/final yield of the tile after the improvement - it doesn't show you the net yield at all. So I can't tell how much the improvement is actually adding (without first hovering over the existing tile and then comparing it to the tooltip, which is tedious). And here I am dumbly assuming that placing a fishery adds +3 food +2 production and +2 faith.

Worse, I've also seen a few times where the numbers doesn't seem to match up in any way with the final yields at all.

Has this always been a problem or am I missing something?

I've had this problem also for a long time, I was unsure if it was a mod issue or a game bug.

Yeah, I think this came in sometime in one of the patches. They "fixed" it up by being a little better at counting when the improvement had a more dynamic yield (ie. I think it fixed the old lumbermill bug with the extra +1 for being riverside), but it broke in that it also now included yields from any buildings/wonders in the city. So it will say that a fishing boat adds +3 food when in reality it only adds, say, +2 food itself and a lighthouse is already giving the tile +1 food. It also doesn't adjust for yields that go away. So if you have Reyna who gives +2 gold on unimproved tiles, it will tell you a lumbermill still adds +2 gold.

Ah, the latter sentence explains then why one of the tooltips i got just seemed completely wrong.

I think the tooltips show the gains the tile will get in relation to a base unit of that tile

Like if I have grassland getting earth goddess faith, the tile gets 2 food 2 faith. If I put a farm on it, it'll bring it up to 3 food 2 faith. But the tooltip for building the farm shows "1 food 2 faith" since that's how much more it's getting than a plain grassland tile (2 food). I think this is not inteded behavior, but it seems to be doing that consistently.

I have the same problem, since long time ago (the beginning?), and it's really annoying. Gets completety crazy when you want to see what a fishing boat does in a city with the mausoleum. I wish the devs would fix it ...
