at first i found it easier to conquer, but now i seem to be able to win through culture even when im not planning to.
So i understand your point but culture victories dont require any conversion of cities, it only requires great people and wonders, which are all easy to get when doing a tech victory and dom. victory.
So cultural victories arnt difficult, but tech n economic are.
Sort of strayed off the point. but who really cares lol
just noticed u were talking about the top 10 players :S
but the point still stands, its only the . .. .. .. .. . who rush who win domination victories online.Otherwise its really difficult.
i couldn't disagree with the 1st poster more, i find that military is the most difficult victory to acheive unless u are able to pull it off very early. Once your opponnents dig in defensively, ur gonna need a tons of offensive units to take a city, and likely it is gonna be costly and you'll pull ur civ's production from other areas like culture or science.
I find that if you stick long term to culture and science u will eventually steam roll over your opponnents. Their cities will start to flip to your civ and/or with your huge scientiffic advantage (ex. u have tanks and everyone else has archer armies) u can switch to fundamentalism and go for economic/culture/military victory. Anyway give culture a chance
I love the Great People (I forget which one they are) who appear and can convert rival cities to your own Civilization. That's quite a bit easier than having to build armies to take a rival city.
dont forget it counts as a dmonation victory when people leave
usually when im pulling way far ahead in science the remaining players will leave as they probably feel there is no point playing another 30 mins or longer just to lose
