The Sherman? What a piece of garbage. That has to only be on the list for pure numbers.

Until the gun was upgraded with the 76 variant it was undergunned compared to the opposition, it inspired no fear, unless 10 surrounded an enemy tank, and its armor was so weak it was nicknamed the Ronson, catches fire every time, by american tankers.

Maybe the crappy James Garner movie inspired that part of the list.

it's production rating and exportation record stands by itself i reckon. sure it was a tinker toy but it most definitely helped the allies win the war.

The T-55/55 is a good choice that I wouldn't have remembered. As I recall, it is still the primary tank used by NK, and its almost fifty years old! That would be like us using our National Guard to fight Russia!
Our National Guard armories use M3A1 and M-48 Pattons and the like, do they not?

Pattons yeah, but I thought it was the M-60 variant.

yeah cheezy. i think you're right about the pattons.

although i know that back in the mid-90s the Natl Guard was allowed to sink a few m-48s about 10-12 miles off the coast of Atlantic City for use as natural reefs. no kidding.

Is the Sherman the tank that attacked german Panzers with a pea shooter that couldn't penetrate panzer armour even if it fired at it 10 times in the same spot ?
