Hi, I'm about to purchase Civ 5 but before i do that, i would like just a break down of stuff.
What does annex a city mean?
What CS do, can you explain them?
How to sell something ex. a building or unit?
^Who do you sell it to?
I would appreciate if you could answer these:)
And even put in a few important parts you'd think would be vital for me to know? Thanks!:)

When you capture someone else's city, the game will ask you to annex it(make it part of your empire) or set it up as a puppet state. If you annex the city it will give you extra unhappiness and be considered 'occupied' until you build a courthouse. If you create a puppet state, it will still make people unhappy, but not as much as if you occupied it. You cannot control a puppet state.

Welcome to civfanatics, by the way. I'm MantaRevan. :D

It means to take full control of the city after you have defeated it

CS = City State, it's (normally) a one-city state
How to sell something ex. a building or unit?
right click in the city screen
^Who do you sell it to?
you just sell it...

Well, I see you've already done 30 posts and have been here 4 months, so I'd say, continue to read the forums here, and you'll learn lots!

Well there is 5 tutorials so I suggest playing those. They will teach you the basics.

and to delete a unit, there is a button on the left part of the screen when you have the unit selected. The units disappear and don't go to anyone. You just get gold and save on maintenece cost.

More specifically on selling buildings, when you go the city screen, you will see the building icon in the right hand column (with specialist slots next to them). Those are the icons of the buildings in that particular city, and that's what you'll have to right-click on to sell.

Annex gives you full control at the cost of more unhappiness. When you take over a city, always choose to puppet it (or raze if you wish) instead of annexing. You will see a red fist on the city. Roll your mouse over to see how many turns it will be in revolution for. If you want to control what the city builds, annex it after this red fist is gone.

CSs (city states) give you stuff if you are friends with them, and more stuff if you are their ally. The best way to befriend them is by paying them money. At +30 pts you are friends, and at +60 you are allies (unless another civ has more points with them), but you lose about a point with them a turn.

Sell buildings by clicking them on the right side of the city menu. Sell units by clicking on them, choosing "additional actions" from the bottom-left corner, then the skull to "disband" the unit. Do it in your territory for money.

You can also give away units by going into a different civ or CS's territory and clicking the present button. Or you can click on a CS, click the "gift a unit" button and choose it.

Press F9 to see how your civ stands with the others, and press the R key so resources are marked out for you (they can be very easy to miss if you check the terrain for them). Happy civving :)
