With the recent surge of information I was wondering if people knew more about trade routs and trading posts.

Is it now possible to have foreign trade routes with for example, city states that are allied and civilizations that have a declaration of friendship with you?

Do trade posts produce more gold when they are build on a road that is connected to the capital? (I really think this makes sense but it's not in vanilla.)

Is it possible to use great merchants to conduct a trade mission with another civilization in order so that both civilizations get some cash and also a positive modifier regarding diplomacy?

I have read most interviews and didn't see anything like this answered but I guess I might as well take a shot at it. Thanks for replying.

If nothing has been mentioned, then it's very unlikely, by now it would've been mentioned

HOWEVER, there is a mystery of Trading Posts, screenshots no longer depict them as often as people use them in vanilla, and Trapping will no longer give Trading Posts when researched.

As much as I'd love international trade as a reason to construct roads to other civs, and a reason to keep roads I build that complete city-state missions... it doesn't seem like we'll have that in the expansion. Nothing has been said on the topic, so unless it's just kinda slipped under the radar..

Well, chances are very slim to none. :(

I completely support trade routes to other empires. I think that makes sense and it would be a cool thing to add. I know one thing some city-states ask is that you connect a road from your capital to there's which is stupid because it provides no financial benefit. They should at least make it so that connecting to city-states gives bonus gold. Something is changing with trade posts and i am just as curious as you are about trade routes as well. Hopefully something will surface.
