Trading with the AI

I've posted elsewhere that the AI still makes 1:1 trades, and more importantly, it can be "talked" into much better deals than it first offers. At first I approached this in a haphazard way, asking this way and that, eventually making a fair deal. After a little practice I figured out the trick:

1. Offer a luxury.
2. Clink his gold link (30 is standard).
3. Ask how to make this work.

The AI will then make a fair offer - so fair that if he doesn't have enough gold, he'll just say he can't do it.

Maybe now the complaints will change from the AI being too tough in the new patch to being too easy!

I first have to say I am using the vanilla version. I have found if the AI has only 1 of that resource he wants 3 of yours. If he has 1 you can get a 1:1 trade ratio usually throwing in a small amount of gold or 1 way open borders.
