Okay so i recently made a mod along with a map with some new civ colors, some new resources, and rules.

I will be playing as the Mayans. Theres no UUs or civ traits or anything so i basically have no real advantage. It will be on Regent, where all AI start with an extra settler so i'm already going to have to dig myself out of a hole. Victory Conditions be Conquest and Space Race, but i think the latter will only happen if i fall far behind the conquest.

Alright so i am ready to go and i get this:

5000BC- I get a fairly decent start position. It's mostly forest which i'll have to clear, and i see a bit of tundra, which shows me i am pretty far north. I have a friendly tribe nearby which will help me out and i have a source of cattle to help me grow. Chichen Itza is founded and i get Ceremonial Burial. I will most likely rush the Temple i can now build with a clearing of the portion of forest which bears the cattle. Kill two birds with one stone this early on and i'm good for later.

I will call the the forest in the south "Chichen Forest" and the northern forests will be called "Mayan Woods".

4850BC- I am already thinking about settling another village to the south in the Chichen Forest. Some scouts spotted a small area with a lot of Tobacco in it. This may help the village develop quicker and contribute towards our victory.

4650BC- Copan is is built by two sections of the Chichen Forest heavy in Tobacco plants. It is also close to the coast and by another friendly tribe:

4600BC- The tribe granted us with a settler. It looks like we already are making friends and hopefully the major tribes will be just as friendly so i get no surprises until i am ready. Well, i was mistaken about the coast, it turns out that the water is part of a large lake. I send the settler along the lake and it will be built in the foothills of a mountain.

4550BC- Palenque is built and the mountains nearby are named the "Palenque Range".

4450BC- My current map:

I learn pottery so now it's time to get those scouts running about. Alphabet is next in my list.

4300BC- I find a civilization to the south which i will soon make contacts with.

4250BC- I built Tikal up north almost in the Mayan Woods:

It turns out the tribe to the south is Scandinavia. They are seemingly nice because i gave them Ceremonial Burial for 100 gold and we happily agreed. I am considering expanding heavily towards his area to overwhelm him and make him submit to my authority.

4200BC- I find another lake to the east of Copan. Should make for a nice settling spot, being that it has spices too.

4150BC- I find what appears to be the real coast:

To the west of Palenque i find some dead barbarian bodies laying on the Chichen Forest floor and some victorious warriors nearby. I speak with hem and it turns out they are from Japan. I give them Ceremonial Burial for 110 gold.

4100BC- I find out that the large sea i found is not connected to the coast. Still, i cannot find the coast anywhere. I do see a tribe to the southeast of Scandinavia.

4000BC- I meet the tribe neighboring Scandinavia and it turns out to be China. It appears they border the real coast.

Yaxchilan is built:

3950BC- I learn Warrior Code from a nearby village.

3900BC- I learn Alphabet and go for Writing. I trade with others to get Mysticism and Bronze Working. With bronze working, i discover some fish in the Palenque Lake.

3800BC- Bonampak is founded in the western Chichen Forest, near some disappointed Japanese settlers. As i am exploring the coastal tiles owned by Scandinavia, i meet an island civ named Spain. I get 80 gold out of them for Alphabet.

3750BC- Chichen Itza begins to build the Oracle. This will show our power and frighten the enemy civs into peace. I give Mysticism and Alphabet to Japan for Masonry. Then i give Masonry to China for the Wheel.

3630BC- Lagartero is built to the east of Palenque. Here is the Mayan Empire as of now:

3550BC- I give Masonry and The Wheel to Spain for Iron Working. I discover some Iron just outside of Lagartero.

3510BC- A small village teaches us the knowledge of Horseback Riding. To the west of China, i meet my MORTAL ENEMY: The Incas. They are fall behind in intelligence and i show no kindness to them. Quirigua is built south of Copan, very close to Scandinavian borders.

3430BC- To the west of Tikal i meet the Greeks. So far it turns out that the Temple i built in the very beginning worked its magic:

When i get Writing i can start Propoganda flipping cities, but i have to be careful because it tends to make AI's more likely to declare war on me (believe me, i had a game where there was 6 civs at war with me, for no reason too, all declared separately over a few turns.

3390BC- I learn writing and Philosophy is next to learn. My scouts find some coast to the north and it looks pretty nice, i may have to settle there a bit later.

3310BC- Calakmul is built south of Palenque in a small space which remains. As i look around it appears that Scandinavia is trapped, locked in by Me, China, and Japan. I begin trading contacts with my neighbors and end up getting contacts with the Ottomans, Portugal, Russia, Mongols, Persia, Arabs, Celts, Babylon, Iroquois, England, France, Rome, Dutch, and India. I end up making a huge mass of gold, which now rests at over 2000. Seeing the opportunity, i flip Stockholm:

I expect to be battered with war declarations later, but for now i'm doing well.

Here's a map of the known land:

You do seem to satrt a lot of stories, and I don't want to be -really- mean, but will this one meet its end in a finished-kind of way?

the last one was going well, but i got sidetracked. I made a mod, then a map, and tried it. i liked it so i wanted to make a story with it. Now that i have more time since its summer, i can get more updates and this one will be finished!

3150BC- I plant two cities: Lazapa and Kaminaljuyu around the edge of the Yaxchilan Sea:

I find out that some neighbors have map making. I end up giving Japan 140 gold and my World Map for Map Making. I get on a trading spree and net myself a world map from each civ, and over 600 gold.

I gaze about the map and spot the arabs:

Now i hatch a deadly plan. The arabs should be the easiest to kill, but they are somewhat far. However, if i flip Medina, i can irrigate it a bit, then swarm the space around with settlers. After i am a bit established i can run in and take the poor city. Good idea no?

Give it a try and...

BAM! Mission successful! The worker will take sort of a long time since it isn't growing well, but if i get a temple in there real quick (7 turns) then i can take advantage of the wheat and sugar around it.

I am first to Philosophy. I grab Construction, the costliest tech, and head for Currency. I can trade down for the rest if needed.

Awyeah don't mess with the MAYANS. I land in a golden age. A bit earlier than i wanted, but its cool, it speeds up my settling and gets me closer to being able to fight effectively in a war.

3070BC- A tribe i come across teaches us literature. Some scandinavian settlers are moving through my territory, up to the Mayan Woods. There's a LOT of space up there so i don't think i can stop them.

2990BC- I give Construction to the Inca for Polytheism, their Map, and contact with the Zulu. From Zululand, i get contact with the Hittites.

Before i end here, i leave you with a map:

50167354.png

2910BC- I give Babylon literature for Code of Laws, their map, and 50 gold.

2830BC- Tulum and Coba are built in the western Chichen Forest, near Greek borders. Dzibilchaltun is built up in the tundra, in a spot Scandinavia was hoping to have. I advance into the middle ages with my acquisition of Currency. The next learning shall be Feudalism.

2790BC- I look around the map a bit and then my gaze settles on Scandinavia. Their only coastal city left, Oslo, looks ripe for the picking. Plus it has their only source of Iron. I head over to the embassy and:

Its mine!

A few cities are ordered to begin swordsman production. Scandinavia's remaining cities are in for hell pretty soon.

2735BC- Mayapan is built up in the tundra to the east by Greece's advancing settlers.

2700BC- I built 5 cities in one turn, one of them being a city near the Arabs, so now i have two over in that area.

One statistic to express the last few turns:

I'm not done yet too! 27 cities! Pretty soon, i will be adding four viking cities to that total when i have my swordsmen ready to go!
