Transferable skills

I've had civ 4 for a few years now but only recently have started to really try to get better, reading strategy guides etc. My question is, with civ 5 out to be released in around a month (i've preordered), should I carry on trying to improve my civ 4 skills drastically, or will this just make civ 5 harder because its such a different game?

The specs for civ5 have yet to be released, but those like adequate for any game of todays age.

That should be fine, from what we've heard so far. Civ5's supposed to scale very well, so any respectable laptop should be able to handle it, albeit on unknown quality.

I'm not sure so about the graphics card in that laptop, but as said already, we don't know yet the recommended or minimum specs.

As for your civ4 skills, if you can beat Noble easily enough you probably already have the basics of civ games down and trying to improve past that is probably not going to help you necessarily for civ5. Just play civ4 if you enjoy playing it. No one here apart from the 2K reps have played the game so we can't really know whether there is much "transferable" skill.
