Ok, folks, this is a short shelf life thread to guessitmate if the new Transformers movie is going to meet the hype and expectations of us all.

For what its worth, from the previews I have seen it looks to be just simply incredible. Even my wife commented on this, and she isnt really a sci-fi nut like I am.

Sooo, without further ado, lets ask the big question: Will it suck or will it be awesome.....or something in between maybe?

Discuss and vote!

I just can't get my head around them making a movie about a bunch of Hasbro toys and calling it a scifi action flick.

Well, if the sci-fi channel can take a cheesy low-budget series like Battlestar Galactica and turn it into the gritty sci-fi drama Battlestar Galactica, then I do believe all things are truly possible.

At least I hold out that type of hope.

I will wait for this 2 hour long General Motors commercial to come out on the inter tubes and not waste my money on it.

/concurs in his opinion

The whole premise is so out there (yes, I know its sci-fi) that I can't see how you'd make a plot that wouldn't make me LOL.

at sam's we stocked a ton of those a two nights ago.

sold one that next day.

edit: i'm more shocked that we have a bionic woman.

The premise of the movie is terrible and boring. I'd probably fall asleep in theatres if I tried to watch it. Why not make a movie about Legos? That would equally as boring but perhaps attract a bigger crowd...or not.

I find the idea, concept and script lame. It is just a way for selling toys, I wasn't interested in the comics and I am not interested in the movie.

Type Legos in on YouTube...tons of Lego Movies....even have one for the Numa Numa Dance:lol: And the video games are pretty good too, and who knows..AND they already kind of did this. Bincole by Lego made how many movies already.

And I say Transformers looks good....dont know yet, just wait and see....

Judging by the trailers, they ruined it. This is supposed to be about transformers, which means I don't want to know about some stupid backstory of some dumb teenager buying a second-hand car. WTH is all the "let the car find you" bull crap?

That, and I'm sort of disappointed that they didn't write Unicron into the script. Sure, Orson Welles is dead, but they can surely get someone to imitate his voice. "Destiny. You cannot destroy my destiny!"

Well at least it gets points for oringinality. I think this is the first time they've tried to turn a saturday morning cartoon into a sci-fi sensation.

Oh... it was a cartoon too? I thought it was originally a comic book, and turning comic books into sci-fi movies is pretty popular these days.

Where have you been? In a cave? It was a cartoon even before it was a comic book.

Precisely because of that, I think it won't out-and-out suck (because you'd need to practically set a record for lousiness to achieve that low bar), but it'll disappoint a good number of people.

First time I heard of it, I just figured it'd be two hours of little kids throwing their tiny toys at each other.
