Hi everyone,

I'm a long time player of Civ V (even though i've not played any Civ game since 2015 so i'm a bit rusty) and thanks to the Black Friday Deals i decided to give Civ VI a go.
So far i'm playing at Prince difficulty just to learn the ropes and i've got a few questions regarding different arguments.

1)It seems to me that the playstyle for Civ 6 is particularly different from its predecessor, for example in Civ 5 i used to grow Tall Empires with huge cities (especially with India if i recall correctly) spaced out 7 tiles from one to the other.
In really few occasions i used a strategy called ICS (Infinite City Spam) for example to achieve an Economic victory with Rome.
In Civ 6 though it seems to me that playing tall it's not really viable... the cities don't grow so fast and to make the most out of the districts it would be beneficial to go for wide empires or even spam cities... i found myself struggling to obtain a position of advantage.

So the first question is: Playing wide is the dominant strategy in this game? Can you still play tall?

2)This question is related to districts. Most of the time i place them in the optimal location to exploit their bonuses, like placing a Campus near a cluster of mountains but i saw some videos on Youtube in which you can see the player trying to create a cluster of cities really close together to create then clusters of districts which can provide bonuses to one another.
So: Should i place my cities pretty close together to try to form clusters of them and then clusters of districts?
Or it's still possible and (especially) viable to space out the cities and their districts?

3)I've got big issues with the UI. I think that is awful even compared to Civ 5 base UI and i seems to recall that i used a mod called Enhanced User Interface for Civ 5 at the time.

For example: The report screen doesn't give you a report of the current trade routes and of your military units;

You can't clearly see from where you're obtaining Envoy points and Great People points (example: i'm generating 2,3 GP points per turn but from where?);

I find most of the tooltips to be really unintuitive.

So: Which UI Mod do you recommend? I found one called "Better Report Screen", is it good? Do you think it would be beneficial adding some more mods other than this one?

Thanks in advance for your help.

You can play ''Tall'' but the best way to gain the max from it is to settle all your cities asap then grow from there. Don't delay too much your early cities unless you go for a horse rush.

The wide strategy is the dominant form. You can use the ''staircase'' strategy to settle your cities, i.e. place 1 or 2 extra in the beginning, then wait for 50% card/Magnus for the others, then wait for Ancestor Hall+Feudalism to settle more, and so on.

What about Districts then?

Regardless if i play Tall or Wide should my cities be closer together to exploit the District Adjacencies? In order to get clusters of districts?
Or should i space them out?

Also, do you recommend some UI mods?

should my cities be closer together
Cities take a fairly long time to grow big enough to make use of the 'third ring'. Therefore more often than not, it's better to settle somewhat closer. Depends a lot on the terrain as well. Especially cities you settle later on (>100 turns) can be cramped together since they will never grow very tall before the end of the game. Loyalty benefits a lot from closer cities as well. That's something to master in CIV VI.

Also, do you recommend some UI mods?
I recommend Concise UI and More Lenses, they improve many aspect of the game for me. Save me a lot of clicks. :)
