Transparency issue

Hi, I hope this problem wasn't answered already somewhere else, as I didn't find a solution for this inside the forums.

Here's my problem: (click for bigger size)




Basically all the in-game menus are transparent, buttons have disappeared, and I'm having a hard time in clicking around as I can't see the buttons (you can barely see the DRAFT button, and it's impossible to allocate specialists if you can't see the buttons)



I'm running BTS (3.17) on Vista. What can I do?

did this appear from the time you installed or after patching?
did you install the game with admin rights?

So, I installed the game pre-patched as I bought it from an internet website. The installation itself was managed by the auto-installer, do you think it would make any difference? I remember that it used to work fine, but I had to download the game as both Civ 4 and BTS cds were damaged beyond repair after falling at the bottom of a drawer a long time ago.

you might want to do the following:
1) open the control panel for your graphics card driver and turn anti-aliasing off
if that does not help:
2) uninstall the game
and
3) reinstall - make sure to rightclick on the installer and choose "run as administrator"
many of the vista problems come from not installing with admin permissions...

please open
my games\beyond the sword\civilizationIV.ini (use any text editor)
then search for all items with log in their name and change those from 0 to 1. Then start a game try to open as many screens as you can. if at all possible start a game. Close the program. Then post all items in
my games\beyond the sword\logs as a zip file attachment here.
