- And there was a map generation-type Mod in Civ V, the name of which escapes me after all these years, which did something of the same thing: modeled 'rain shadow' and primary wind direction for its effect on terrain and biome. As I remember, the results tended to be a bit too extreme for good play: maps became very predictable on where jungles, rain forests, deserts would form on every continent, without variation.I believe the maps in Old World have something like that, with Lush terrain being on one specific side of Mountains, representing rain patterns?
But I suppose it was a start.
