Trouble loading Earth scenario

Not sure if this has been brought up before, but since search is disabled, I have a hard time finding any appropriate thread to post this in.

I have a hard time loading the earth scenarios (both the Earth and the Earth1000AD scenario)... The game seems to load them fine, but when it says "Done", the cursor stills sleeps and nothing happens. The blue menu stays over a black screen, without the game starting.

I tried to CTRL-ALT-DELETE myself out of the game, but rarely succeeded to get out of the game back to windows to close the game. Most attempts a hard reset was necessary to exit the game and try again. Once I did succeed to get out of the game, the task manager reported a "VMDDMB.DLL" (or similar) file could not be found...

Otherwise I've played the game flawlessly, and the game has loaded other scenarios (the Desert War one). But it refused to let me play the Earth map.

I post this here, in case others have experienced similar problems or can help out, or, possibly, if this is a bug, it may be fixed in upcoming patches.

I run Win XP Home, P4 3,4ghz, 1 gb ram, GeForce FX6600 video card.

How much virtual memory do you have? This is a fairly big map.

How do I find out?

EDIT : I found out in the "My computer" properties, it seems 1536MB is allocated to virtual memory.

Attached a screenie for the configuration, hope it makes more sense to you than to me. Is there anything I can change in there, to make things work?

OK, I managed to sort this one out myself. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I updated my video card drivers from Nvidia and made a fresh install. I also set the "user defined" Virtual Memory setting to "system defined" in the above properties box. Not sure what made the difference, but now the scenarios load perfectly, and so far plays well too.
