Ok, I went ahead and took it to keep things rolling and to redeem myself. Here goes my report:
Turns 1-4:
I start gearing back into war-mode. Musketeers are on their way to Athens. I also get the workers off their lazy-butts and find a few tiles for them to work on - During this time I felt that going for replacements parts for lumbermills would a good idea. I switch towards that and use our great engineer that had been asleep in Paris to help us research it. Hopefully no one has any objections, but I didn't see any other suggestions on how to use him.
Also, we won the Apostolic Palace Elections during this time, but no resolutions came up during my turnset:
Our stack at the end of turn 4 - ready to declare war on Sitting Bull:
Turns 5-6:
At the beginning of turn 5, we finish replacement parts. I put the workers to work building lumbermills and start working on steel next for cannons.
And then our next war of conquest began:
Of course, this draws Bismarck into the conflict as well. We take another "you declared war on our friend" hit from Pacal and Justinian - we've dipped down to pleased with Pacal, but Justinian is still our pal.
Snaketown is defended by a few longbowmen and macemen:
Our stack makes short work of them and the following turn we take the city, our only losses being two trebuchets:
Turns 7-8:
Following the loss of Snaketown, Sitting Bull is able to break away from his master Bismarck due to the loss of territory.
It was during this time that I remembered to take a look at our current civics. Slavery isn't too viable at this point in the game, so I make the switch to caste system and take the anarchy hit. Afterwards, I gear Nidaros towards more scientist specialists since it had the greatest chance to make a great scientist.
During turn 8, somehow our deals with Pericles were canceled, so I renegotiated a new deal for more happiness resources:
By the end of turn 8, a small stack of Bismarck/Sitting Bull forces showed up on the borders of Snaketown, but they were ineffectual. In between turn 8 and 9 they attacked and we took no losses.
Turns 9-15:
During turn 9, I had the remnants of their pitiful attacking force wiped out, and then I starting moving our SoD towards Spiro. During my turnset, musketeers have been moving from our mainland towards Athens, so I moved a portion of them to defend Snaketown while our SoD pressed the attack.
A couple of turns later, our stack arrives at Spiro:
Protective longbowmen fortified on a hill are tough to take on, so we took a few more losses - 3 trebuchets and 3 macemen. But in the end, the city fell and the Native American Empire was wiped off the map:
We also captured three workers during the attack.
For my last couple of turns, a great spy ended up being born in Nidaros - I'm not sure what to do with him.
Also, we finished researching steel and moved into the industrial era:
Our production cities are now working on a combination of cannons and musketeers.
And here's our Eastern border at the end of the turnset:
