Turn 200-209

Here they come. Probably not much we can do to stop them now. Unless something turns up we'll lose Magadan in 3 and Bethel 5 turns after that.

Played the turn. Should have pillaged those roads before I recaptured Magadan, oh well.

Played the turn but nothing to report. I'm just waiting for Epsilon to do their thing. They are next to Magadan now, we'll see if they take it or bombard it first.

Magadan is gone and Epsilonians have made quick time marching up to Bethel. Also what is a Cossack doing in Weaverville? Rushed Machinegun and Artillery.

Couldn't upload screenshots. I'll try again later.

So we have just the one city now? How many turns does it look like we have left in the game?

We've got two cities left both, defended with a Machinegun and Artillery. It is hard to guess when they might get serious and take them out. Why Weaverville is still ours I don't know and I still don't see any serious assault units there (just the three cavalry and Aloha's Cossack). Considering how cautious Epsilon is I think they will wait for reinforcements before attacking Bethel (Cavalry and two Infantry approaching) but that shouldn't take more than 4 turns.

Still can't upload screenshots.

Mmm, I had that problem yesterday as well. That was after the site was down for a long time (at least an hour or two). It seems to be a site-wide issue...

We were (and still may be) on a different server so some of the sites abilities are offline and it seems srceenshots are one of them.

Screenshots of North and South Innovia.

What? We actually have something to discuss thus turn!

Piffle's cavalry is running south, abandoning their attempt to capture Weaverville. They have a war to fight with Epsilon now, which opened with 5 nuclear strikes! I guess that the war declaration on us was just a cover for their troop movements to the continent.

Their peace offer asks for 200 gold and 18 per turn. I don't like the idea of paying Piffle off, but on the other hand it really isn't much at this stage of the game and we really have no use at all for it.

I wouldn't mind accepting it.

Well Weaverville is spared for the moment then, but it is in shambles. Infantry will take 27 turns to build and slow growth makes rushing unlikely. We need a worker! Our last one is chopping trees down south. His 5 turn journey home takes him within range of Epsilon so its pretty risky but building another would take 9 turns.

So we can start building one now or hope our current one makes it home. We can try asking Piffle to escort him back for 50 gold or so (we have 9 and save 7 per turn).

We're going to need Piffle to cover the Worker. We can't expect Epsilon to just sit back and let him pass by.

By the way, did we sign the peace with Piffle? Personally I'm not much in favour of the large gold payout to them, but if it's been and gone then never mind.

Where were the nuclear strikes?

The deal is done, it amounts to 380 gold. Thats maybe enough to upgrade a unit or two. If it helps Piffle keep some heat on Epsilon then thats a better use than we can put it to.

I'll send that screenshot and see if they will give us a hand. I'll ask for some details about the nuke hits too.

Bethel has been captured and small stack with some cannons is on its way to Weaverville. No point building the worker now and I went ahead and disbanded the other one too.

Here is a pic of the power graph for this turn, no sign of any damage from the five nuclear missiles.

I haven't looked at the save yet but Rob sent this note along with the save:
I will be gifting you the remainder of our techs. IF you guys can jump Piffle in score it will be a small victory for you and a slap in piffles face.

Aloha gave us combustion but it didn't do much good at leveling the score, Piffle is still almost 900 points ahead of us. But we can build destroyers now. (not really - no oil or uranium of course.)

Anyway I'd say two turns left for us.

Its time enough for us to give our two cents toward the UN vote though. Four cents actually. We get 4 out of the 670 votes, but since Epsilon has 65% of the population and only needs 268 I'd say the presidency is a forgone conclusion.

So what should we do with our last impotent gesture? Aloha or Abstain?

Aah, you guys are no help! We voted for Aloha and I included this stern message in the turn tracker:
We have given The Leader every opportunity to realize the foolishness of this war but he has stubbornly refused to see sense. Well now Epsilon has built the UN and let them rue the day! Our embassy in Epsilon Eridani is closed permanently (pending Epsilonian reaction to this final message) and their emissaries will no longer be welcome in Innovia (unless they contact us immediately).

Innovia has cast its vote. Now Epsilon and The Leader can squirm while they await the final reconing which will no doubt render all their exertions to conquer a proud people usless and for nought.

This is your final warning for this turn!

Not much more to say except that with reniforcments already moving up I'd say that Epsilon still isn't quite ready to seal the deal. We've already lasted twice as long as some Epsilonians predicted so long ago.
