Turn 200-209

We have 6 infantry, 2 cavalry, 4 axmen and an archer

It ain't going well is it?

I would quite like to play on, if only for the goodbye video from General W!

Better to attack than defend, I say, as long as we can reach it in a turn. ;)

Attack, let's try to hurt them a bit.

Port Tropicana has been reinforced. Also Piffle has three cavalry approaching Polynesia. We'll have two more infantry next turn and enough gold to upgrade an axe, but the plan is to pillage everything now.

Epsilon is on the march. They have 3 marines, an Infantry, machine gun and 2 cannons moving toward Glassport (one of our best remaining cities). For some reason I'm unable to pillage roads but that wouldn't help much anyway. I'm abandoning Magadan and Bethel to concentrate troops at our more valuable Eastern cities.

How long do you think we have?

I have so little information at this point I can't even guess. I can only see the stack of 6-7 units adjasent to our boarder, but who knows what they have comming up behind that and if they also have some galleons heading toward our east coast it will be over very fast.

In the turn tracker they predicted we have 8 turns left (how tacky). Given the time it would take them just to march to Bethel, I'd doubt we can be gone that fast but they clearly know more about our situation than we do.

At this point it's just a matter of dying with honour and showing that we are among the teams who actually care to finish the game.

For some reason I'm unable to pillage roads [...]
It's not possible to pillage roads in one's own territory.

It's not possible to pillage roads in one's own territory.

You need to visit my neighborhood. The road out here gets pillaged every time it rains.

Looks like Epsilon will try to take Glassport in 3 turns, but I think we have enough Infantry to make them wait for reinforcments. I wish I had managed to save some of our cannons but with a little delay we may have time to rush some artillery. I asked Piffle for railroads so we have the option to build machine guns, although with marines on the loose and no chance to use them offensivly we may not want to.

They may try pillaging some tiles at Polynesia so I'll alos look for a chance to pick off an easy kill.

We got our first artillery and will soon have two more. That is enough to attempt some counter attack. Unfortunately I Epsilon will begin its assault on Glassport this turn. If our artillery can not get into position before the city falls we may loose a large part of our army trying to hold the city. We can abandon it and the probably make a successful counter attack but Epsilon may just raze the city.

The also landed a big pile of junk a little to the south. A real stack of doom that looks like it will roll over Polynesia in 3 turns.

Try to keep troops in our cities, just hit their stacks with our rare artillery.

Whats the cultural defence and have they got enough ships to destroy the defence?

Culture defence in Glassport is 40%, they have two cannons.

Then they'll take off 16%/turn if I'm not mistaken, which means it will take 3 turns of bombarding to bring the defenses completely down. That might just be enough time...

They do have marines though, so they may not bother bombarding all the way to zero.

Have we got infantry, because they have a 25% bonus against other gunpowder units, so against marines we would have a 25-24 advantage, not much, but hopefully just enough to hold them back from charging in like bull's in a china shop

Oh right, I forgot about that.

If they have a lot of Cannons, then it may be better for us to be on the offence rather than the defence. If we just hole up in our cities, then if they have a lot of Cannons they can easily deal enough collateral damage to slice through our stacks like butter. So IMHO it's better, if possible, to be on the offence. :)
