Turn Discussion Thread

Good - we can start on RP.

The map trade gives us a good excuse to bring up the subject of military cooperation/coordination with Quatronia. Clearly, our individual attempts at taking Mav cities have been pretty futile so far. I will try to write something in the next 24 hours.

We need Guilds and Banking, what should we tech in the mean time?

Aw, shoot. I forgot we need Banking. How about Democracy? Or drop the slider to 0% and put the beakers in Liberalism? Or we could tell Amazon that we will research Banking... Not sure what the best option is.

If someone can log in to see how much it costs to upgrade our Elephants and HA to knights, see if we need more money.

Well Cav Scout logged in so we tradded Constitution for PP, also world maps. The mav's re-captured Poison city and renamed it The Plague.
So they make the same mistake like we.

WE can't upp to knight
HA to Knight 50 to 90 => 40 *3 + 30 = 150
I don't think we need it now, 2 time upping cost additional 30 and we needn't the knight. We 've 2 HA or 3.
If we need a good military, we should research mil-trad for getting cuiras with gp from Ama next turn. Cuiras are one of the best units this time.

What is with banking, who research this?

Yes I had hoped that they burned that city, it appears they didn't learn from our mistake.

150 should be more then affordable.

Amazon is researching Banking. Quat isn't researching and I thought CDZ was doing MT, but check their diplo thread to be sure.

EDIT:
So far:
US: Liberalism (for now, we still have time to change it)
Amazon; Banking (confirmed in dilpo message thread)
Quat: not teching (check in game in case they change)
CDZ: Military Tradition (confirmed in dilpo message thread)

The mona in Sirius brings us 12 netto :science:, 10% of 120. But it's a good, we can there build missios without orga.
Ama has stealed guilds and gp, is there any info, when they are ready with banking.
Quat shows gp-research without points.
Perhaps we should minimize our research rate then, or switch to demo, not so good, because we want ET with banking.
I hink Ama 'll go to eco next after banking to get the Merchant.

Look at the pic

I had a look at the game and dropped the research slider to 0%. We can put minimal beakers into Liberalism for the moment. Quat is probably in the same situation we are in, trying to figure what to research next.

We should send an info at the ETT, about the reseach sit.
Better 2 messages too much than 1 too few.

I agree we need to stay on the same page and I'd like to know CDZ's progress on MT, we really need that to start in on our Cuirissars. I was thinking once we get Taj Built and in Golden Age, that's when we should adopt Theo+Vassalage to pump out many units. Hopefully that will be enough to wipe out Mav.

I also suggest burning Mav cities here on out, we can build settlers to go with our army, I think it'd be better odds to settle a new city and defend then wait for that "unrest" to end.

Depends by the size of the city and the buildings you find. A settler is expensive, too and needs time to arrive in site.

The unrest is at worst ~2 + citizen; that is allways better than found the town new. The crux is, often we can't hold the conquered towns. There is allways a lot of cats to diminish the stacks. Problem is the culture and their better unit-movement.

If you get a town with >2 cits and can hold it, the enemy has made a mistake.

I meant not about the upset citizens I meant about holding the town. We shouldn't keep one unless we KNOW we can keep it is what I mean.

We got Gunpowder from Quatrona, they asked for Marble without saying what they wanted it for. I told them no and that were using it, I thought we already sent a message about this? I think we need to send them a new Diplomatic message about them still having Stone and now needing Marble.

EDIT: It looks like Amazon is preparing to invade the Mav Spoke.

I looked at game and see the Ama units. They can be at Spot in 3 turns and then attack, Want we make an additional move?

Alpha
What is your plan with the units? You 've upped to knights.

Well I think if Quat, Amazon and us went in with our own stacks we should be able to take over the spoke. I have reservations about seeing the spoke taken over by Amazon, they seem to have been very well with their military.

However the units have been planning on going to the Fort spot for some time now, the knights we had more then enough money to upgrade them in case the team decides to attack. I think if we communicate with Quat and Amazon perhaps we can get this spoke taken care of.

I already said we need to coordinate our military efforts with our allies.

We can also try to negotiate a division of the cities we'll take. Of course if we take active part in the fight.

Who takes in charge the communications with Amazon on this regard? Is any other team involved?

I know but were falling behind in posting in this thread let alone talking to our allies.

Trystero and Irgy are our diplomats.

Co-ordinating attacks between ourselves and Quatronia is a good idea. It should be handled though by the generals, i.e. turnplayers. Can you imagine the ineffectiveness of communicating turnplayer->diplomat->diplomat->turnplayer, and then back again along the same path? If it's going to happen, then two people who are good at multiplayer warfare, one from each team, should be communicating directly - probably over chat rather than email.

Of course the diplomats could at least help set it up. It re-raises the issue though that we should have a single player in charge of war tactics. The strategy is for the team to reach consensus on, but the details should be one person or it just ends up a mess. I don't think we reached any conclusion on who that one person should be though last time this issue came up?

Good point Irgy. Time is an important factor.

Time ago someone told me to take in charge the General role. If this is still valid, i will take in charge the warfare part of our game and the communications with the ally team involved. Quat at present, i need to look at the game.
