Turn Length

So, I just played my second game as Rome to a Diplomatic victory. It was fun and I am enjoying getting used to some of the new rules. But there is one thing that will make me throw this game out the window (proverbially, of course, as it is a digital download):

Time between turns.

I am having no problem with performance during my turn but the darn computer takes FOREVER to play out the other players. Any ideas (aside from using strategic view) for improving this. My hardware is already pretty good.

I have the same complaint too, it took such a long time to finish my first game, granted I was playing on Chieftain. It felt like playing an Epic game in Civ 4 when I had the speed on normal.

I thought it was only me because I keep setting it to 22 civs and 28 city states.
